Coronavirus: 'Pandemic' scientist makes breakthrough on COVID-19 cure

It'll take 3 to 6 months to scale up, but this would be vastly superior to hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin if it works as described.
"The next step, the big-time consuming part, is the GMP manufacturer. Traditionally, that takes nine to 12 months, obviously we can't wait that long. So we've worked with two different partners to try to accelerate that to take a few months but that does take time and there's really no way around."

"Assuming that we're able to complete our study, at the end of summer… and it looks good, then we would use something called compassionate use.

Great job, but if it'll take 9 to 12 months, then it's too late.

This seems getting better in US (future projections changing) and it looks like my evilnaro in Brazil is doing a great work because last two days the spread rate seems to increase.

Anyway, where do you get the data to plot?

Anyone who is now unemployed and previously had trouble getting unemployment should reapply. The CARES Act has a special pandemic unemployment that covers gig workers, part timers, long term unemployed, etc. It will pay unemployment for that state plus $600 per week, or about $900/week depending upon the state.

States are still setting up the process, but the federal program requires people first sign up for unemployment and then, after denial, you will get sent over to the pandemic unemployment automatically. It might not work smoothly in practice in some states, but it is huge give away.

If anyone has a small business, the forgivable PPP loan is like mana from heaven. It is very easy to get and applications can be accepted at any FDIC bank starting on the 3rd. Let your employers know to get this so they can stay in business.

Independent contractors and self employed folks can apply for PPP loans starting on the 10th. These loans are without a personal guarantee and will be completely forgiven after used up, without tax consequences.

This is good, and this is the right move. Now if everyone would just agree to shut down for 2-3 weeks at the same time, then there will be a way out of this. Otherwise it will drag on and on and the shutdown will need to be extended and more and more people are going to lose their jobs.

I would like to know what on earth is wrong with Trump (this is a rhetorical statement; I know what's wrong with him). Supporters, please explain your pov as to why this response to institutions in dire need of supplies is both appropriate, mature, intelligent, demonstrating a comprehension of the reality of what is being faced by the medical system, and demonstrates good leadership through a crisis. If you scorn the source of the article, then just refer to his own tweets. Thanks.

My take on this: Trump being Trump. And like all populists, he needs someone to blame for every problem he has. In case of corona, it was first China, then Europe, and now that the virus is spreading within the United States, it's the people not doing enough against it. It only makes sense as a mean to prepare his reelection in november, mobilizing his supporters and chosing an easy "enemy" for his purpose. Be assured that he will somehow relate the pandemic to the democratic party and Joe Biden, and China of course.

Sure, but how this equates to folks lauding his leadership, believing he cares for the people, and being 'calm' under a crisis is mind boggling. (when is he ever calm and level headed? ) Just be honest about who/how he actually is. I mean, please. ( not directed at you haha)

I am assuming many already refer to this site or something similar, but this is what I look at daily. You can see all of the data by country as well as state, and watch trends.

This is the u.s. currently, and you can look at other countries also. Several European countries are really struggling, and some U.S. States are definitely having high added cases the past few days and beginning to creep up with other states.

Thats not needed for them. I guess everytime you believe that no one can be dumb enough to do something, someone will prove you wrong. Trump makes the world easy for anyone listening to him. No matter how much shit he says, he's always absolutely confident in whatever he says or does, and seemingly talks openly about the ''truth''. People follow him because he's an expert in presenting himself who knows whats best for USA at any given point, even when he actzally has no clue at all.The worst thing that can happen to him would be if he has to admit being wrong, and you'll probably never hear it from him.

True, it’s like dealing with a bad boyfriend. It does not matter what he (Trump) thinks. If he does. It does not matter. Nor why he thinks this or that, or how could he, or whatever.

It’s pointless. Better to just move the fuck on.

Example - ppl mobilizing and getting ventilators made on their own. Just get on with it.

Meanwhile the rest of humans just stay indoors.
