Illinois: 543 deaths/million ; 6,770 deaths total
Texas: 79 deaths/million; 2,293 deaths total
I look at the graphs of new cases, and in Illinois, the peak is behind and the cases have flattened out dramatically. Texas is seeing quite a spike in a short amount of time, including to daily rates that seem to exceed Illinois by at least 1000. Like I said before, the numbers are higher because Illinois already hit its peak. It's not clear that Texas has (but I suspect it hasn't).
Facts don't care about your feelings.
Did the Illinois governor put in measures to protect nursing homes like the Florida governor? or did the Illinois governor put nursing home patients in danger by putting them in close proximity to Covid-19 patients like Cuomo?
You're a well informed citizen. Why don't you use the wealth of sources you consult and tell me?
I don't see any evidence in my search that Pritzker (that's the name of the Illinois governor, but I'm sure you knew that) has done what Cuomo did (which seems like a dumb idea) .What I do know is that he's been cautious about lockdowns, and has been lifting it in a very gradual process of different phases. He's also advised everyone to wear a mask when out, and, while I'm not sure if this is state or city, stores are not allowed to admit people without a mask. There are very strict rules about how many people they can let in, which is a minor pain in the ass, but necessary and worth the frustration it causes.
At any rate, we have an experiment of sorts in place to tell which approach to the virus is better. We can observe the cases in Texas and Illinois over the coming months and we should have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn't. Perhaps I'm wrong an malaria pills, vitamins, and prayer are sufficient to fight the virus.
