This was part of their game but I am not sure this is their end game. Since I totally would be surprised that they form some kind of resistance movement. They already did many years ago but this time it will be in a more formal fashion. Which is why it is vital that the new administration takes it's job seriously and right away, since prevention of radicalization is basically the only thing that can prevent massive damage down the road.

The US military, with all their faults and virtues, remain loyal to the Constitution of the USA.

Well, it seems that there are threats to primary every republican that isn't siding with Trump. Therefore if we consider how the base thinks that could really hurt the establishment of the party. As a matter of fact it could undo it with time. Therefore for me all of this could easily be just the beginning of the real saga. Because the base for this is evidently there. Especially since all of this will be kinda forgotten 6 months down the road, just as the scandals from mid 2020. Since there is too much crap for anything to stick for too long.

There was a greater chance of a coup happening at the time of 9/11 and the Bush administration, it was something more in the order of Bushwick and the Bush co. wars allowed them something to do instead, the massive private armies of nazis and nazi like groups which went out to perform support roles in those wars.
