You live in a fantasy world with imaginary enemies. Maybe you should take a heaping dose of hydroxychloroquine, because you sound like you're delusional from prolonged high fever.

The chart is suppose to be comedic. Its from a satire site called the Babylon Bee.

You know, I was going to defend you and say maybe she wasn't intending it to be humorous, and instead was starting to get it and was having a bit of growing pains in the proces.

...I guess not.

The pandemic isn't funny. It's never been funny, it will never be funny because people are actively DYING and suffering pointless horrific deaths where many could have been avoided.

So yes, indeed no fun IS allowed on this subject.

I wish I got a check like this, instead of direct deposit now.

And now I am utterly disgusted.

Do you not even understand that if ANY president did this (hell, even a CEO of a private company did this) it is entirely inappropriate, far beyond egotistical and says something so horrible about the person?!

 I am done taking anything seriously. Might as well block me now, because I deal with stress via humor. I like Trump, I am going to laugh at memes and jokes. End of story.

Are you inebriated currently? You have said that you do that often.

I really hope you take your life seriously.

Humor isn't an excuse. If you plunder into something awful, you will have no one to blame but yourself.

Then you should be pissed off at those partisan hacks jeopardizing the lives of others by congregating in large groups, just to protest. The anti-quarantine protesters aren't Rosa Parks. They're more like Typhoid Mary. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...ent-rosa-parks-theyre-more-like-typhoid-mary/
I am pissed at those idiots. Almost every (socially distanced) interaction I have with my fellow conservatives involves me having to talk them down from giving up on the state mandates that are currently in place until May first. My best tactic now has been to appeal to their sense of 'don't be a quitter' follow through. But after the small business loan program was swallowed by giant corporations before anybody I know with a small buisness could even get a taste, it's getting really hard to keep people locked down. Especially when the next supposed round of loans is being held up for the sake of padding it out with money we don't have for programs and agendas that have nothing to do with the shut down.

I knew the second this thing got political the entire thing would unravel, which it is beginning to do. I did my part by trying to keep that from happening, and all I got was raked over the coals for it. When it comes to surviving or clinging to old pathological hatreds apparently the later is what most people will choose.

Hey moderators, is there some way to add an option so that members don't have to read every single other post in a thread? Like if they systematically find another person's posts more triggering than they can handle, for example, they would then be able to simply not read them?

I think the conversation would be quite weird with that option lol.

No, I am at work.

Yes, there you go again with your flip flopping tone. Ive had enough of you gaslighting me. Does it hurt to try to be empathetic in one post, but insulting in the next?

Disagree. Humor helps us conquer what we fear or at least deal with it in a same manner. Few situations are too grave for humor. Disallowing humor is an act of surrender.

I was being facetious. Not only is there already literally a forum option to ignore certain certain posters, but even without that option all that's required is the willpower to stop reading posts that will almost certainly annoy or anger us.

I personally don't think it makes the conversation weird to ignore the posts I will almost certainly find annoying or a waste of time. In fact, being able to pick and choose whose posts I read is the only thing that makes this thread worth paying attention to. It's one thing to disagree with someone and engage in dialogue about it, and it's another to mindlessly lock horns and get forceful (with manipulation, insults, or relentless pettifogging) because someone thinks something we don't like. The latter is unequivocally a waste of time, doesn't deserve attention, and it in no way detracts from experience to routinely skip over those who post little else. IMO.

Certain humor helps us. But mocking truth doesn't.

I'll give you an example. Suppose a child is sick and dying from Type I diabetes. Her parents refuse insulin because they believe it is the Devil's spit. As the child is lying there dying, the mother makes a mocking joke about the "corrupt doctors peddling their insulin", which makes the family feel better about their decision to not use it. That is an example of humor that does not help. Not really.

On the other hand, if the child were dying and there was nothing that could be done about it, or the parents had done everything they could, then maybe a joke about the child "not having to eat broccoli anymore in heaven" would be helpful.

Yes, I read about that. I found it all to be pretty much FUBAR. Having said that, it's no excuse to behave like a bunch of maniacal shit wads and endanger the lives of others.
