Hey moderators, is there some way to add an option so that members don't have to read every single other post in a thread? Like if they systematically find another person's posts more triggering than they can handle, for example, they would then be able to simply not read them?

Uh, there's an ignore feature that's existed for years.

Title of article is highly suspect. Let's check it before reading it.

*notes news source*, never heard of it. Let's do some checking.

Hmm, right wing opinion and commentary. That sets off some alarm bells.

Seems it is started by some angel investor named Aubrey Chernick. Oh, look, he financed Brietbart in the past. That tells you allllllllll you need to know.

Yeah not reading that crap.

You do know that most media sites are Left wing biased right? You are not being fair. Now you are feeling what I feel, when I read your bullshit.

Reality has a "left wing bias".

Yep, I am being extremely fair, because I am triaging between meaningful news sources, and non-meaningful ones. Yours doesn't cut the mustard upon giving it a quick closer look, and the title itself gives it away. What would not be fair, is to simply let this pass.

You feel frustrated because you don't understand your views, how to fact check properly, and fail truly analyze what the modern GOP is about, and fail to see that Trump is a lying shack of shit. Indeed, it is going to feel frustrating time and time again when someone pushes back against that. And guess what? I have no intention of stopping, and I am not alone with this. Kick and scream all you want. If you share falsehoods, false sources, etc, you're going to get pushback.

Okay Karen.

Sometimes (and this is apparent looking at our history) there are people who are right and people who are wrong. Not everything is relative, and not every disagreement is just a matter of perspective.

For instance, Galileo was convicted of heresy over his belief in and writings about heliocentrism, and died in captivity. Yet he was right, and the church was wrong (and not just in their rejection of heliocentrism).

You may feel that our differing perspectives are just differences of opinion, but you're wrong. I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of basic facts, and you have shown yourself to be deeply flawed in your actions within this thread, time and time again.

Your penchant for hard statistics goes well with a black and white world view. How high would you rate yourself in creativity and trait openness?

US debt clock

It doesn't look bright.
Public debt to GDP ratio 114%
Total debt 77 Trillion $, about 230.000$ per citizen.

If this pops it is be a brave new world out there once this is over. (globally)

The CEO of Ryanair, one of the world's biggest airlines, says it won't fly if middle seats have to stay empty for 'idiotic' social-distancing rules

Coronavirus: Ryanair won't fly if middle seat empty for distancing - Business Insider

I should start a site for nominating CEOs to be thrown off a cliff.

He's not wrong. Social distancing isn't going to do jack shit on an airplane. The extra arm room would be nice, but not putting people in middle seats just seems like a token response that would ultimately accomplish nothing. Actually it would probably be worse, since it might give people a false sense of security. I don't think I've ever gotten on a plane and not gotten sick afterwords. They would have to do something about the endlessly recirculating air first and foremost. Until then we are either flying shotgun with covid, or we are staying home/driving.
