ENTP e4. On one hand you do not get any more special snowflake then that. On the other; it sounds like a terrible combination.

Though I suppose it does give me license to commiserate with senza tema about how everyone and everything is just awful, so awful.

Enneagram 8. ISTP.

I'm pretty solidly 6 but I understand why I got 8. Still, this is a common error in enneagram tests. 6's are difficult. I thought the last question didn't have anything I related to, I picked the closest and got 8 because of that. Maybe adding one more option or changing one could help make this more accurate.

Something like: 'I like to react according to each scenario as it happens. - or - I find it difficult to be consistent in action without knowing details'

That is more 6ish, I think.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion :)

Okay.
So I looked at the results from October 17, 18 and 19. I believe most of the test-takers in that period are from this forum.

Here's what I found ...
[Sorry the tables don't come across well. I tried spacing them, but that didn't work either.]

67 Test Takers in Total
[Not significant number for real statistics, but fun anyway.]
[Some people may have taken it more than once, but there is no way to be sure which ones, so they are all treated as individual test-takers.]

How well did they think the initial test result fit?

INITIAL RATING
Enneagram Jungian
perfectly 31% 28%
quite well 48% 40%
so-so 19% 21%
not so well 1% 7%
not at all 0% 3%

61% scored both Enneagram and Jungian types as
"perfectly" or "quite well", needing no further adjustments.
Others went on to answer more questions.

How well did they think the final type fit?

FINAL RATING
Enneagram Jungian
perfectly 31% 31%
quite well 54% 52%
so-so 15% 16%
not so well 0% 0%
not at all 0% 0%
[My goal is +80% answering "perfectly" or "quite well".]

Distribution of Enneagram Types

E-type 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
number 4 7 5 19 16 2 5 2 7
% of total 6.0% 10.4% 7.5% 28.4% 23.9% 3.0% 7.5% 3.0% 10.4%

highlander posted statistics for the forum members in 2012 as (in order by type):
6% 3% 5% 23% 27% 11% 12% 5% 10%
http://www.typologycentral.com/forums/enneagram/58167-forum-statistics-enneagram-types.html
This seems fairly similar to the results above.

Some generalizations - just eyeballing it here:

5's picked a few types and took longer to narrow down their type,
and more than the other types rated their description as "so-so".

7's more consistently picked their type, narrowing choices
more quickly, and went on to like them, and 5 out of 5
rated it "perfectly".

9's picked more type descriptions, but were quite happy
with the resulting type.

More than half of 4's, 7's and 9's rated their description
as "perfectly" fitting them, while the others were more
likely to rate it as "quite well".

Distribution of Jungian Types
J-type ENTJ ENTP ENFJ ENFP ESTJ ESTP ESFJ ESFP
number 0 3 1 4 1 0 0 3
% of total 0.0% 4.5% 1.5% 6.0% 1.5% 0.0% 0.0% 4.5%

J-type INTJ INTP INFJ INFP ISTJ ISTP ISFJ ISFP
number 7 12 9 16 3 2 3 3
% of total 10.4% 17.9% 13.4% 23.9% 4.5% 3.0% 4.5% 4.5%

At 44 out of 67, INxx's clearly out number all the rest.
xxxP's also number 43 out of the 67.
INxP's are 28 out of 67, or 42%

Some generalizations - just eyeballing it here:

Most results fit the overall patterns, though perhaps the INxx's picked more types initially and overall rated them "quite well" instead of "perfectly".

In terms of correlations with Enneagram and Jungian types, the ones that stand out above are 4/INFP&ISFP, 5/INTP, 7/ESFP, 9/INFJ. (Again with such a small pool of data, it's hard to pull out significant correlations.)

Correlations with Enneagram and Jungian Types

Retook the test, trying really hard for the best answer for me. Got ENFJ 9 on the very first results page.... nice job.

Like everyone else, I liked your type 9 info. Very on point.

Heh, seeing as I took the test twice, 9 both times, once ISTJ, once ISFJ, it looks like I am the only SJ 9 to score so far... All the others 9s so far are INFJs and one INFP.

I got an ISTJ, enneagram 8. I get an 8 every time I take an enneagram test. I get ISTJ about half the time I take an MBTI test. I liked your test.

INFP 4, it said. Good job on the test; you obviously put a lot of thought into it.

Your answers indicate that you are likely an Enneagram type 8 and Jungian type INFP.

TBH, I'd never considered being an 8. I always expected them to be starting fights & stuff of that nature...sorry to use stereotypes, but that's seriously what I expected. But the description actually kind of sounds like me. "Type Eights have lots of energy and confidence, and savor challenges and making a big impact. They easily assume responsibilities and work to resolve difficulties with a take-charge, practical approach. They value loyalty and are protective of the underdog. They can be generous and pursue their appetites with gusto. Eights are often direct and blunt even bullying at times. They are people of passion, easily expressing their enthusiasm and joy as well as their disappointment and anger."

So I may actually be an 8. INFP 8w9 sp/sx. Weird combo lol.

Liked the test.

Yeah, it's been 4 years in the making, with 4 major revisions and lots of adjustments along the way.
Each time the reactions and results of people led to making a better test, so I appreciate all the feedback.
So far, I am quite happy with the current version (and hope it's good enough to leave, mostly, as is).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad the description seems more accessible (if it's right) : )
Introverted 8's can run contrary to the stereotypes.

I kept getting xSTP and E5 because I know jack shit about people and I just wanna be left alone to die in my room. I finally caved in the end when they asked me to self-asses my type, and so I picked ISFJ 6 because it's all I could think of.

Question 3. What I like about being emotionally self-controlled is that minimizes emotional entanglements with others.

There should be an "it" before the word "that."

These questions are too wordy. Try this instead:

"I like being emotionally self-controlled because it minimizes emotional entanglements with others."

Reword all "What I like" statements according to the pattern above. They sound terrible and read terribly.

11.
Outgoing: I find being with groups of people energizing, and I often initiate activities with others.
Reserved: I like to be with just a few people at any one time, and I need lots of time alone to recharge.

I am fairly outgoing.

I am somewhat outgoing.

I am somewhat reserved.

I am fairly reserved.

What's the difference between somewhat and fairly?

I asked my wife which one to choose and she said I'm all four.

Question 13. The word "naturally" is unnecessary. The statements sound more natural without it. Whether it comes naturally or not doesn't matter. What I do and not do is what matters.

Your answers indicate that you are likely an Enneagram type 5 and a Jungian type INTJ.
