Hint: If you don't test there will not be that much cases detected by default.

My beef. There's not enough testing going on and not enough quality tests to do it. There's no excuse for this not to be a top priority. This virus and its variants are not going anywhere. When the numbers show testing on a steep increase and cases on a steep decrease, we'll be getting somewhere.
True, but the bottom line was that obvious lack of testing messes up the picture, it wasn't really about why this is happening.
However the facts is that for the large chunks of the world this map doesn't really work. Since in a way they are black box and we don't know what is really going there pandemic wise. Especially since many of those countries are ultra young in population and therefore they probably have plenty of asymptomatic people/cases.
I heard today that India might have reached or be close to herd immunity with lower than expected losses. Possibly a mixture of successful measures and a very young population.
Are more people going to die of hunger caused by the pandemic measures than of the actual virus?
As Vaccinations Ramp Up, Testing Declines in the U.S.
The trend suggests testing has reached a ceiling in the U.S. at a time when scientists say the nation should be conducting millions more tests a day.
I don't think any of the vaccines are safe for kids under 16. Not in the US anyway.
Why ?
The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.
...
Can bad scientific practices be fixed? Part of the problem is that no-one is incentivised to be right. Instead, scientists are incentivised to be productive and innovative.

If one rejects Russian or Chinese vaccine does that technically make you anti-vaxxer of some sort ?
