Yeah I agree! I had chest pains 2 times and i was like well fuck the er is over run by covid fuck going there i'll just die. turns out it was just anxiety. Luckily my friend reminded me she's a respitory therapist and her mom's a nurse that i can always call her.

I just want to say that even if I live on the other side of the Atlantic there are similar problems in the making here. Which is that local rural hospitals could get overcrowded soon. Since the capacity is small and the combination of delta and cold mountain climate will probably prove to be a bad mix with pretty unvaccinated local population (many communities are bellow 30% vaccination rate and generally old). Therefore this winter in inland areas could prove to be quite unforgiving in some places. This is truly a global problem that goes far beyond daily politics in US.

If the people who refuse to get vaccinated or wear masks were hurting only themselves, I would say: good riddance. Darwin's law and all. But they are impacting those around them. In other areas of life, that is often considered criminal negligence, especially when they have been warned, and the risks are well documented.

and there's very few people who have medical reasons, fuck! my friend who has cancer and ms and 0 immune system got vaxxed she already has the booster so her immune system would be closer to someone with a normal one, she was high risk even at 2 doses. but still my point being there is very few people who can't get vaccinated. Very thankful the FDA didn't try to appease the politicians and approve booster shots for everyone. It sounds sensible to make them available to people 65 and over and immuno-compromised. Can you imagine the foolishness of having 16-year-olds getting booster shots now when they just barely got their first shots a month or two ago? If there is extra vaccine, then get it to India and Africa if we don't want fresh mutations showing up and if we care at all about humanity. I am very thankful for scientists and wish the politicians would just get out of the way and stop trying to mess the world up.

The thing is the booster shot for general pop is 8 months after the 2nd dose. So 16 year olds wouldn't be getting it yet. But yeah let's get more of the world based vaccinated first. I do agree with that

This is a good video about boosters. I think the Israel data is on people aged 40 and up, but that research shows lower numbers for serious infection with boosters. There are not references to population groups under 40 in this presentation of this document. Is there data on whether a booster would strengthen immunity for teenagers who are fully vaccinated after 8 months?

This looks pretty promising. Denmark towards google has 76% of its people with one dose and 74 with both (and good chunk of the rest are probably minors and people who went through COVID). The country has given up on all covid measures, the days are getting pretty short so far north ... but the numbers are just going down. What supports the path theory, with large vaccination rate the virus has no path and the pandemic starts to fade. Since pretty much all human bodies are hostile to it and it can't really establish itself in more people than the ones that are being cured. What then leads to fade out.
