Honestly, it is almost just a matter of opinion on who is better between Trump and Biden. People don't love Biden. They are just anti-Trump.
That's not 100% true. I know people that love Biden. And even I think there are some things Biden has done well and deserves kudos for. Regardless, the situation was similar in 2020 and Biden did just fine.

Biden and Trump are functionally equivalent in pure age, while Trump has been showing signs of dementia -- his normal word salad has been blatantly worsening in the last 6-12 months. It would be interesting to have them both do a live battery of physical exercises simultaneously and see how they measure up, due to this weird public perception that somehow being 81 instead of 77 is a huge age difference. (I mean, what a joke.) People can spin their physical health however they want, but seeing it side by side live would clear up a lot of misconceptions.

Biden's actually had a number of accomplishments with the economy, etc., in the last two years, but as usually the public messaging by Dems has been terrible and the Israel/Gaza thing has dominated negatively over his performance. I don't have any particular attachment to Biden myself; my main issue is that they promised in 2020 that he was stepping in for four years to stabilize things and then hand off the torch -- which they then went back on. This was a huge gaff, and a needless one.

All of this "age" issue could have been sidestepped if they had made a concerted effort to position younger (i.e., Gen X) leaders better to take over, but they have done a bad job promoting Harris (the actual VP) to make her appealing nor have they well positioned many other younger people aside from maybe Jeffries.

Why is the messaging always terrible, do you think? This I find frustrating. Have they learned nothing from previous defeats?

I vaguely remember hearing about him only seeking one term.

It seems to me like Harris has barely been a presence, really. I probably do need to start reading the news more.

How ‘antifa’ became a Trump catch-all

Over the past few years, Trump, his base and the authorities have blamed antifa for everything from protesting the president’s inauguration to, most notably, the recent looting and vandalism that have occurred amid peaceful protests over the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man killed by a police officer while repeatedly saying, “I can’t breathe.” Trump allies in Congress are tweeting a desire to “hunt” antifa. Right-wing commentators are citing tweets from fake antifa groups as proof of mass fomenting violence.

. There’s not much more than anecdotal evidence and blurry Twitter assertions that organized antifa groups showed up at the recent protests, executing any sort of “well-trained” tactics.
“It’s this kind of thing that he does, periodically; using the term as a sort of boogeyman that can accumulate all those things that he hates, and take on these super powers that require the full force of law enforcement to neutralize,” he said. “And so, in this case, I think that pretty much the cardinal reason for trotting it out is to create a scapegoat.”

I'm just against anarchy. I don't really consider myself "anti" anything.
I don't entirely support it either. I dabbled in it when I was younger. The particular group I was associated with had one person who was always defining what was and wasn't anarchist and appeared to determine for everyone else what the correct way was. This person was probably ENFJ, because they were somewhat subtle about it, and sometimes engaged in something called "vibe-watching" for the means of control. But I decided that if this was the way anarchism actually worked, it wasn't for me. I'd prefer they just wear some title and give up the pretense of being "leaderless". Because otherwise, what is the point of any of this?

And the other thing about these people: sometimes they talk big but won't back it up with action. Any time they proposed doing anything, they would back away from it the next week because it's "problematic." It's impossible for me to take the idea of them being a serious threat seriously. They're more into talk and theory and being part of a subculture than doing anything at all.

But I'll tell you one thing: they're still better than fascists.
