Been wondering about this since I heard about it this morning.
Another huge drain on USA resources based on how many features they'd have to add to make it viable -- or just let Fearless Leader take his chances in the sky.

I think we've all heard how MAGA/Conservatives flipped out Hillary being offered a $425 necklace when she was SoS, which she could not accept.

At my workplace, we have rules that are something like supervisors (they're not even executives) cannot accept any kind of "gift" that is more than $10 if that, so it's not even like the people in our area can provide a freaking $30 gift card for Christmas as a joint gift to a supervisor in appreciation for their hard work. I don't have the exact details in front of me, but fedgov basically has massive restrictions on what can be accepted internally, or even a contractor offering something "free" to a fedgov employee. I think I've seen the meme about not being able to accept coffee and a donut from a contractor and in general that is true.

I'd feel aghast if this was an opening salvo in ignoring the rules, but this administration has so flagrantly violated rules regarding gifts and/or the Hatch Act so often and to such a ridiculous degree that it's hard now to feel anything but resigned. They've indicated they have no plans to follow law, and no one is willing or able to hold them to account.

You've got till midnight to get ahold of your congressman and tell them to fight the "big beautiful bill", or thank them if they are fighting against the madness.
