I'm disappointed in the sweetheart plea deals for Powell and Cheseboro, although not surprised. It seems all politicians (and apparently lawyers) get off with a wrist slap when caught red handed doing wrong.
Powell gets no jail time, no criminal record, and a meagre fine (an amount trivial for a lawyer). It seems there will be no consequences to her ability to practice law either (although that is TBD, but I expect no censure). Cheseboro gets the same deal I assume.
I realize these deals are all about getting them to flip on Trump, but at least give them a criminal record so they cannot practice law anymore. At least half of the havoc Trump manages to create is his ability to get crooked lawyers to constantly bog down the courts with nonsensical arguments. Punish some of these shysters, and far fewer of them would be willing to go to bat for Trump. That would seriously cripple his modus operandi.
But no, zero significant consequences and a free pass seems to be the order of the day.
She's hung a sign on herself I have to figure her masters can't use her like they used to, so Im rather curious as to how long she can manage the cinnebun so to speak.![]()
Sidney Powell could finally be disbarred after pleading guilty, but she has a dark-money org to fall back on
Donald Trump's former lawyer, infamous for her "release the Kraken" remark, may be at end of her legal career after pleading guilty in court.www.businessinsider.com
I didn't know her well but I knew her personally as we moved in the same circles for several years.
No suspect either, at this point?I didn't know her well but I knew her personally as we moved in the same circles for several years.
Not so far.No suspect either, at this point?

Living Dinosaur Newly Photographed in Loch Ness a hoax? Is this the end of photographic truth?
The last R governor of KY was totally batshit insane. He was also notoriously unpopular with nearly every faction of the state. Fast forward, abortion is almost entirely banned, the typical draconian classroom bullshit, book banning and so on and the Republican running against Andy Basher thinks things are going great and keeps defending the abortion ban. I think a Dem governor can veto the worst impulses the right wing legislature has there but they have to do much more than just keep the governor Democratic.^
Seems strange, could be misleading polling. Similar to what happened in Argentina (people say they will vote for the chainsaw guy, but have a sober second thought when they go to vote). Could be the same with lifelong Republicans, say they will vote Democrat (probably due to the dysfunction in the House) but go back to their old ways when they actually fill out the ballot.
