Because health and life of the mother aren’t always very cut and dry. There is no situation where it is safe for this baby to have a baby without risking her life or future health, but because her life isn’t in immediate danger, nothing can be done until it actually becomes a life or death situation and you risk losing them both.

As someone who another pregnancy would put in this exact situation, it’s terrifying. I already had one tubal failure (and ctt a pregnancy against medical advice that almost killed me). Just gotta hope lightening doesn’t strike twice.
Because...the people doing this...dont care about the health and lives of women or children or even other men outside of their "usefulness as tools." and yet somehow they've duped their base into believing they're the "pro life" party....and they're willing to kill to prove it. :cautious:

That sounds scary indeed, truely sorry to hear about that.

There was an infamous case in Poland recently where a woman was forced to carry a non-viable fetus until it died in her body and she herself died of sepsis. The doctors had waited too long out of fear of legal repercussions.

I just posted the two cases because in Brazil rape victims are exempt and yet a raped 10 year old child was pressured by the court to carry on with the pregnancy and in the American case of the other raped 10 year old child there wasn't even an exemption for that. It just boggles the mind.

I mean, if the infrastructure is lacking and/or fear is leading to inaction on the side of medical prefessionals it doesn't really matter much if there are exemptions. In my part of the world we have a sociopolitical compromise law (abortions are generally technically illegal but non-punishable during the first 12 weeks after councelling and a 3 day waiting periode (punishable for the doctor but not the mother if between 12 and 22 weeks), but legal until going into labor in case of severe threat to the physical or mental wellbeing of the mother). The system has been around since the 70s (with some modifications) but some now want to liberate it more while others warn that re-opening that whole package might backfire. Our current government is thinking about ways to make professional training for medical professionals more widespread (currently many don't learn abortions at med school) and it recently abolished the law against "advertisement" for abortions by doctors.

There seems to be a lot of movement around this issue all over the developed world (in both directions).

True, you can't be pro life and be against universal healthcare system or deny climate change. That is simply the logic and the words that don't add up.

New generic ballot polls

Dem +6
Dem +4

It will take some time to switch the narrative and statistics that 2022 perhaps isn't a red wave year. But polls like these are evidently a piece of that. With Roe the Pandora's box is open and now all bets are off.

Erected in 1980, the Georgia Guidestones were long the center of right-wing conspiracy theories in the southern state. Kandiss Taylor, a Republican candidate for the Governor in Georgia, has called the stones Luciferian.
Now, they've been bombed.

destruction of symbols and effigies further ramp up rile and divide as they demoralize "enemies" while rallying "troops":
"You took our statues down, now we'll blow yours up."
Another drop in the bucket to distract from the sound of approaching thunder.
If you're looking for lines of grey backs and blue bellies lining up with rifles and bayonets reenacting the bad old days...you wont find it outside of the usual places...but if you're looking to see a war of ideology... how it looks when its ramping up without the birds eye view of distant history...Behold as what could never happen here...happens.

"Think of the children." Funny how you always hear that, and yet, people only seem to think of the children in terms of how foxes think of the chickens, or how corporations think of their employees, or how gods think of humanity.

This is exactly why I said a number of times that I don't hate Republican voters as people. Since most of them are just ordinary people that lost a lot or perhaps even everything. While the mainstream politics didn't really care about any of that. What eventually pushed them into the arms of "the Orange man". Not to mention that foreign powers really did try to make all of this as muddy as possible via Internet and other influences. However the video is fully right that the people who saw the bad streak of the Orange man shouldn't be too smug about any of their worldviews. Since that only makes it difficult for people to exit that chamber of thought. What in the end only prolongs the restoring of the Republican party into more normal state of mind. What is important since the country needs both legs that is can walk. Especially now when the current world order is objectively falling apart. Therefore the gap between the parties needs to be reduced, but isn't really possible if you don't allow people to get out with some dignity. So yes, this video is right.

It's going to take all of the tools in the toolbox working together to dismantle the machine of fascism being built before our eyes.

Absolutely, but the good thing is that it didn't last too long in it's hardcore mode and it never got complete control. In general it takes decades and switch of generations to clean this up when it truly takes over (if clean up even works out). Therefore in this case it will perhaps go faster since there was never a real and complete takeover. Republicans will remain Republicans and that is ok. But some radical elements that got into the party over the last 10 years or so need to be faded out. Since this is just going too far if you want to be a genuine/functional democracy.

But as always, the best way to fade out radicalism is to make sure that people can have a normal life. It is easier said than done but that is the only real long term antidote to all this. So that average people don't have the need to absorb radical ideas in their free time. Since there is no real need for them (and that applies to some highly ideological democrats as well).

Social market economy

I never got it why this is so hard to grasp in American mindset. Regulated Capitalism.

Brainwashing in almost every aspect of our culture.

Cold War propaganda was very effective. Anything remotely tired to Socialism or Communism, combined with atheisms/agnosticism and the mythology of the "government handout" (which has never applied to corporations or entirely subsidized industries and military) iced over with non-stop fear mongering, lack of education and adverseness to intellectualism, and this is what you end up with. A moronic population, armed to the teeth, being propagandized into a race and deadly culture war, even to their own detriment, because some politician told them to. In a nutshell.
