Those are interesting numbers. However this says very little about who is actually moving. Are these Republicans moving out of the deep blue states and into the red states in order to have red lifestyle there (and to make those states more red). Or are this democratic colonizers of the red states. I mean what is the ratio between the two. Those are the key questions here.

I think it was Shapiro who said that Republicans should move out of deep blue states/areas to somewhere where they make a difference electorally. In other words for the most part this chart looks like something that is this plan in motion.

I think Andrew Yang might want to consider running for something in local govt, maybe state govt because at this point, most people are not taking this ridiculously third way shit seriously. I mean the moderates with civility fetishizes are the only ones supporting it and it's not going to help anyone, other thank the think tanks and lanyards looking for job security. We do need another party but this is not it.

This has failure written all over it and they somehow enhanced that loser-y vibe 10 fold with this idiotic piece. WaPo is excellent for letting anyone shit in their opinions pages, only the WSJ is better for pure editorial diarrhea

It's like they're talking about how unsinkable the Lusitania is...or how the titanic was the future of luxury cruises...

Yeah, my gut is also telling me that this in the big picture will fail. In my opinion the third party needs to have candidates for everything. So you must have people for all Senate seats, all governor seats, all or at least clear majority of house seats, plus you need plenty of infrastructure on local levels. Since you need to look that you really are trying to take over the governing of the country. While in US you usually have some people that run for a few seats and that is it. Not to mention that third party is just a start, there needs to be a fourth party, fifth party, sixth party, .... etc. Since then you really get to chose your desired mix and really bad parties can be faded out completely. While in three way race that is still kinda hard to do and even if it happens you are back to duopoly.

Plus they seem to offer mix of both parties rather then something really new. What isn't that revolutionary.

I think the immigration has more to do with personal economics than politics. Ppl leaving NY and Califorinia, which have higher taxes and real estate, and more ppl going to Florida, which (I think) has less expensive real estate and cost of living.

Female journalist told skirt too short when reporting on Alabama execution

Female journalist told skirt too short when reporting on Alabama execution

One journalist reporting on the lethal injection was told her skirt was too short and another said she had a full-body inspection

Alabama appears to specialize in its extraordinary sense of the ordinary, particularly when it comes to the death penalty. It has now emerged that, during that execution, prison officials subjected female reporters who came as witnesses to the proceeding to a clothing inspection, attempting to bar one woman from the death chamber on grounds that her skirt was too short.
Officials also subjected an Associated Press reporter, Kim Chandler, to a full-body inspection, making her stand to have the length of her clothing checked. Chandler said that such an indignity had never happened to her before in the many times she had covered executions since 2002.
Hrynkiw was eventually allowed to enter the death chamber after she borrowed a pair of waterproof fisher’s waders from a photographer, attaching their suspenders under her shirt to keep them up. That was deemed appropriate attire when watching a judicial killing.

But even then it didn’t stop. The reporter was informed that her open toe heels were a breach of regulation and she was forced to change into tennis shoes retrieved from her car.
After all that, the reporter did her job, and so did Alabama. After three hours digging around for a vein, it found one, and went ahead with the execution.
