Iowa: Trump +18

Iowa is evidently out of the game this time. It is just too rural to be competitive in current era. Therefore even if you close the gap to some degree this just isn't worth the resources anymore (all 4 house districts are already red).

Stonehenge sprayed with paint by environmental protesters

As I said before: there are days then I think that some of these protesters are indeed payed by fossil fuel industry to cause chaos. I mean how dumb you must be to do this as "protesting".

I'm with you on that one. This kinda thing is so contrary to the results they want, I find it hard to believe they arent either being paid off or flat out played by the FFI to set environmentalism back because some of these folks havent lived long enough to understand that there really is such a thing as bad press.

I have always thought this. The ones that throw soup at priceless art, the ones that glue themselves to the road... I mean you have to have idiot levels of funding to find people to do it.

If you have trillions you can surely "buy" a few kids to do stupid things in front of camera. Although some of these people are perhaps indeed stupid enough to do it like this. Education these days isn't on particularly high levels.

wtf is all this about? It's not like she did it once, she did it persistently for five months and upon getting publicly exposed is NOW "truly ashamed" and is seeking reconciliation. If she hadn't been caught, how more months would it have continued? How can you truly be apologetic for something you persisted in doing until getting caught? What else was she doing that she was never caught doing? How can she really represent anyone?

It's the perfect framing for someone to run against her. You want a 10 year old clown to represent you or a fucking adult?

Poll

New York: Biden +8

It doesn't sound so bad if we don't consider that he won the state in 2020 by 23 points. While what is the worst part of the story is that this isn't an outlier but pretty average poll. I mean the real complication of this is that New York is a big state, and this kind of a shift can very quickly make large changes in the terms of house control. Therefore you need plenty of gains in smaller states to cover this large hole.

Thus far the polling in Virginia and Minnesota is shockingly grim for the Dems. Since these evidently shouldn't be genuinely competitive states, but towards the numbers they evidently are. Even when you don't count Trump's internal polls there isn't that much room for comfort. Therefore in the best case scenario it seems that these states will just drain the resources (that are needed elsewhere).

In the term of numbers this is the biggest numerical "glitch" in what is considered to be the common knowledge about the race.

Well, let's see what happens after Thursday's "debate" and what impact that could have -- if there is a crash-and-burn scenario for a particular candidate.
