The old conservatism, which more closely resembled civic nationalism and gave a shit about conservationism and the little guy, it died with people like Goldwater and JFK

Not so sure... if you consider the fact the neoliberalism and foreign interventionism has been the norm for decades now, opposing change to those paradigms would be, by definition, conservatism. Which would mean that Biden qualifies as a conservative, by an honest, sober assessment of his actual positions. The fact that Trump doesn't adhere to that as strongly as his predecessor and he's still adored anyway by GOP voters is, meanwhile, proof that that the GOP isn't conservative. Conservatism is about preserving what exists and being cautious about changes to it. Trump and his base are utterly indifferent to those things.

The GOP isn't conservative, but rather radical right-wing extremists. In 2016, they loathed the way the country currently was and had been for quite some time, (which is why they had to make it "great again"). What they want is actually radical change, and you can bet they're not interested in being careful or cautious about it.

Well you have a point. It’s usually been the GOP presidents running up the debt and supporting drastic corporate welfare and bloated military budgets. That’s a facet of neoliberalism

What I really meant was the old republican conservatism died out with Goldwater. Nixon and every republican president since were liberal spenders with huge interventionist agendas.

anticlimatic we make a deal. You agree to vote for Jo Jorgensen, I'll cast a vote for Hawkins. I sense you are conflicted and a great deal of your support for Trump is more about just sticking it to the dems
Trump has oddly grown on me over the last couple months or so in ways I didn't expect, but I would be happy to vote for a libertarian. No rational person can look at Trump with anything less than conflict, that's for sure- but when it comes to the lesser of two evils, he wins by a landslide. Which is saying something.

False. Biden condemned riots and looting. Trump told folks causing violence to "stand back, and stand by."

I'm not sure I agree anymore with this sentiment.

For one, in 2016, I felt we had an equal of two evils in my mind. Hilary had Bengazi, the Clinton foundation had controversy, the controversial email leaks, etc. to me, Hilary was a criminal and a bit out of touch with what her base really needed.
Then there was Trump, who has Trump University, destroy the environment by cutting back regulation, stop-and-frisk, and "grab'em by the pussy." Can't say he looked like some pretty person either.
I had planned to vote for an independent but my grandpa kept preaching "ya wasted vote goes to the wrong side." so I think out of spite is why I voted Hilary to be honest. I cried when I left the booth. When Trump was inaugrated I retired to my room quietly. I didn't want either one of them.

I think a few months ago I might have considered Trump, with all the radical progressivist stuff tossed around. I don't agree with a lot of it. It was hard to get anything out of the debate but what I did notice is Biden distancing himself from the radicals. He distanced himself from the people burning shit. Some of the very strong leftist came out and acknowledged they realize he isn't for some of their policies but they're working on compromises. Biden has been more moderate in voting history. So when I have a perspective now...Biden isn't perfect. I give some shit because, I want someone to rationalize Biden's existence besides pity or "he isn't Trump." but it is very likely I'm voting for Biden with less reluctance than I had voting for Clinton. I think there's a lot of left and right media trying to create divisive narratives. The democrats attacking Christianity, Trump stands by it (he doesn't, he's one of the most unchristian people there is, I don't care how many bibles he poses with). Dems for communism, which I mean, to me some of these radical movements ARE, but Biden distanced himself.

Biden has shown more decency through this and all. Honestly, I feel if you consider the lesser of two evils sincerely, you get Biden.

You're not wrong. I'd agree if he was the Biden we remember from 2008, but I don't see him making it 4 more years. And if he had picked a running mate that was anyone other than that power hungry authoritarian radical leftist psychopath, I might support him- at the very least to support my SO, who is a leftist and has had a hard time these last four years having to look at the orange man.

But I firmly believe that the new American left, which has corrupted both academia and the MSM, is currently en route to completely destroying the country (like, they aren't even pretending this isn't their goal), so I'm afraid Trump still is the lesser of two evils to me. Because at least after he's gone, the country will still be here. Not sure I could say the same about Harris.

Any time a Tory says "hard decisions will need to be made to pay for the pandemic" it means they are going to privatize the health service, it'll be a fire sale, hard to know what they'll do to pay for public services when they've sold them all off to buzzards and asset striping city speculators

At least JFK didn't predict he was going to be killed like Diana did. I have no problem admitting her comments in an interview raised my eyebrow before she died.

Finland doesn't exist is my personal favorite but the Mattress Firm conspiracy is the funniest.

Mattress firm is some sort of giant money laundering scheme. They are fucking everywhere and always empty. I remember seeing 4 mattress firms all on each corner of an intersection once, there is no way there is such a demand for mattresses.

^ Is that it?
