Why INTP might be drawn to emotional fiction

I am an INTP who does not tend to become very emotional all that often and in keeping with stereotypes doesn't show it a lot of the times I do. I am however drawn strongly to dramatic stories with lots of emotion, particularly melancholy bitter sweet emotion, which from what I've read opposes most INTP stereotypes. I am not apt to actually cry at a movie, book or videogame but am very aware of the strong feelings they evoke in me and quite enjoy it. Is this perhaps a secretly common thing among many intp's and if so any theories of an underlying reason. Could it be a case where I(and other INTP's?) find a way to use our inferior function of Fe and enjoy doing that? Or is this just an area where I don't fit the stereotypes of my type?

As a probable INTP i feel that i can comment. For myself i like emotional fiction as it allows me to feel a bond with the characters and gives me someone i can relate to. Plus it allows me to accumulate experience to help me process my emotions and therefore help me relate to people in real life.

Agreed. Normally I am not apt to feel much emotion at all. However, despite this, I quite enjoy emotional music as it causes me to feel that of which I rarely can. (Or if I do it is very fleeting) It's a wonderful world to experience when the emptiness becomes almost lonely.

This extends to characters in fiction (but only when I can relate to them on a deeper level) or if there is some deep meaning or big picture symbolism in a story that speaks to me because the artistic beauty (generally dark and bittersweet). But that might be related to my 5w4 enneagram.

I think I'm ENTP so my Fe is supposed to be tertiary, but I can relate to that all the same. For me, strong emotions, if they are "real", are a rare and scary thing. Induced strong emotions... beautiful.
