No not really. I just like developing characters. Once I've finished all of them, I'm going to make a master list for the whole forum. People will get to see if their birth month describes them. Then, I'm going to write the relationships between the months, so people will get to see the similarities and differences. Then there actually might be more basis to type.

Appearance: December likes keeping up with current fashion, but nothing super high-end or glamorous. She keeps it cute and casually trendy. December knows a lot about beauty for her young age. She can do just about anything with hair, makeup, and nails. December makes sure she looks cute before she leaves the house.

Personality: December is a personable, sociable, and self-aware girl. She’s the epitome of what a teenage girl “should” be, at least in society’s eyes. She’s a fantastic student, organized and motivated. It’s uncommon for her to miss an assignment or get less than an A. December is athletic, fit, and active on her school’s swim and track teams. Very popular and well-liked, December is invited to parties all the time. However, she always smoothly withstands the pressure to use substances or engage in illegal activity. December is highly in-tune with her feelings, which is why she has the confidence to get what she wants and do the right thing. However, December does a mean and whiny streak. At school, she can be rather exclusive with her popular clique. If she doesn’t get her way, she can pout. December is the baby of the family and is quite spoiled.

Wants: December wants to be the best in everything. It disturbs her if she does something and fails to excel in it. Instead of scrambling to acquire new skills, like her older sister August, December focuses on improving in what she already does--which is still a lot. She’s not focused as much on the achievement as she is on people’s recognition. December wouldn’t care if she got first place if nobody was watching.

Likes: December enjoys beauty, makeup, and home improvement. She spends a large percentage of her time watching YouTube DIY tutorials. She also likes to write in her journal. She finds that this grounds her in her true identity, which seems so changeable; December can act like two different people in different situations because she wants everybody to like her. It can be exhausting, and journaling helps take her back to her core. December likes anything that gives her the opportunity to be noticed. This usually takes the form of team sports (and becoming captain). Even when training alone, December pretends she’s performing.

Fears: December is afraid of being shown up or seen as inferior. Her worst nightmare is meeting somebody who’s better at everything she’s good at, therefore making her irrelevant and disposable. The desire to be number one often overshadows December’s moral conscience, so she admits to sabotaging people she sees as a threat. The sabotaging is usually calculated and subtle, so nobody can trace it back to her. December is skilled at knowing how her words will affect the future, so she can pull just the right strings in order to get her way. December wants everyone to love her, so she observes other people and twists herself into just what those people would love. She knows full well that she’s being fake and is therefore never deceiving herself; after all, she is very self-aware. December is almost always in emotional distress, because she wants to be true to herself and good, but she also wants to be loved and a champion. If she isn’t the center of attention, she’ll start being afraid that she’s been replaced by someone better.

Lessons she needs to learn: You can’t always be the best. Not everyone is going to love you. You have to quit the facade and just be yourself all the time. You have to let other people shine. Not everybody is going to praise you or watch you when you do things.

It's interesting you say empty things, because I too like going to places where no one goes sometimes. Not like haunted houses creepy but usually parking lots, empty parks, places in school where no one goes to.

Appearance: January is tall, thin, and angular. She prefers to dress modestly and can’t even remember the last time she wore shorts. This is not due to any social expectation or insecurity; she simply favors covering as much skin as possible. She does, however, enjoy wearing some makeup. Most of the time she fills in her brows, puts on mascara, and applies dark lipstick. It is done tastefully, and not in an “emo” or alternative style.

Personality: January is chilly, like her month of the year, and has been described as a bit of a bitch. It’s not like she tries to be--she’s just naturally very blunt. January will not mince words. If something is in need of correcting, she will take it upon herself to criticize and fix it. She could almost be called bossy, although the word does not quite fit, because she is a woman of few words and rarely raises her voice. Her style of leadership is doing everything herself and inadvertently alienating all other members of the group. Aloof and unfriendly, January does not enjoy being in close contact with others. She has difficulty dealing with friendship, intimacy, emotions, and physical touch. This does not bother her, as she has little desire for these things anyway.

Wants: Above all, January wants accuracy. She believes that most of the problems in the world stem from the fact that people are careless and stupid. Common sense is her only savior, and rationality her only god. Because of this, January seems to do everything perfectly and precisely. However, her intense need for sensibility can cause her to be grumpy when faced with hopes and dreams. If you need somebody to blow a hole through your greatest aspiration, go to January.

Likes: It would be easier to describe what January doesn’t like. In general, she’s a very disagreeable person, and is not quick to admit that she “enjoys” things. The closest thing she has to leisure is creating storms and icicles. When she creates weather, she expresses her deeply repressed feelings. When there’s a blizzard, it means that January is in intense turmoil. This is her only way she feels capable of admitting that she even has issues. Never suggest this to her, though. You might get the cold shoulder--literally.

Fears: January is afraid of intimacy. For some reason, she just can’t let anybody in. She doesn’t want to be hurt or destroyed by others, so she puts up so many walls that nobody can even see who she is. Sometimes January is so guarded that she herself doesn’t even know who she is. To avoid her emotions, good or bad,, she throws herself into compulsive perfectionism and analytical thought. One could say that January is always to think herself away from the things that might cause her pain. Her constant thinking is a shield from harm and intimacy.

Lessons she needs to learn: It’s okay to fail and be imperfect. It’s okay to trust others. It’s okay to relax and have a sense of humor. It’s healthy to feel.

Appearance: February is tall and thin, much like her older sister, January. Unlike January, however, February has a healthier, more flushed complexion. She is also less reticent about showing skin, and often wears strapless dresses--weather permitting. February loves to wear tasteful and traditional makeup. She avoids looking “over the top” and flashy, but her unparalleled grace never fails to turn heads.

Personality: February is very unlike her older sister. She is exceptionally warm and gentle, treating even the most disagreeable people with respect. February is somehow everybody’s benevolent older sister. She’s wise beyond her years and always knows what to say in puzzling situations. If you’re hoarse and voiceless, February will speak for you. If you’re in pain, February will be the one to hold you together. Her gentle enthusiasm and subtle sense of humor are hard to dislike. She radiates joy. Somehow, just being around February warms a heavy spirit. One of her greatest strengths is the ability to find joy in everything. Unpleasant tasks rarely bother February, because she can see meaning in chores.

Wants: February wants a perfect world. She believes that most problems in life stem from the fact that people are insecure and that they don’t love themselves enough. February makes it her mission to uplift others to reach their full potential. She takes people under her wing and carefully nurtures them. Although she is most often slow to anger, February has been known to get very resentful towards those who don’t seem to want to improve. Her sweet voice, likened to that of a mythological Siren, can draw many to her side. February also loves making other people smile. Her source of life comes from watching others light up. It reassures her that a perfect, peaceful world is not impossible.

Fears: February is terrified of being worthless. The thought of leaving this earth having done nothing, having been nobody, fills her with sadness. To counteract feelings of insignificance, February refuses to let herself engage in so-called “frivolous” activities, like sleeping in and watching TV. She becomes anxious if she’s not out doing something virtuous or having positive interactions with other people. February believes that her emotions place burdens on others, so she flees from her negativity. Despite being a companionable person, she’s surprisingly private. She’ll listen to other people’s feelings for hours, but nobody ever knows what she’s feeling, or what she’s been through. People wonder, but they don’t ask; she does a stellar job at hiding her innermost fears and seeming content all the time.

Lessons she needs to learn: It’s okay to lean on other people. It’s okay to talk about your own feelings. Not everything you do has to be for a greater cause. There’s nothing wrong with “powering down” for a while.

Appearance: March dresses simply and casually. Most of the time she sticks with Converse, jeans, and a pullover sweater. Because she doesn’t wear any makeup (besides a bit of mascara from time to time) over her youthful face, she is almost always mistaken for much younger than she is. This doesn’t bother March very much; she cares very little of what others think of her appearance.

Personality: March is a very mellow and unassuming young woman. She demands so little that she’s often forgotten about, which hurts her more than she lets on. March could easily be described as sensitive, but never as emotional. She’s a very kind girl, often taking interest in the well-being of all living things, but she rarely displays any emotion other than quiet compassion. March isn’t even known to smile a lot. When she becomes upset about something, she finds a place to hide and release her tears. The last thing she wants is smothering sympathy and a big, emotional scene. March values her privacy immensely, and is very uncomfortable with close contact with others. She does not like hugs, gifts, or displays of affection. This does not mean she is not a caring person; March simply prefers to initiate fondness on her own terms. Not surprisingly, March connects better with animals than with humans.

Wants: March’s wish is to tread lightly upon the earth. Her true motto is, “Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures, kill nothing but time.” Unlike her older sister February, who wants to make a difference, March seeks to refrain from affecting the world around her. If she died poor and unknown, but happy, she would have all that she ever wanted. However, March does desire acknowledgement from her loved ones. She’s frequently overlooked, and this hurts her deeply. March feels like she’s not asking for much, and it’s extremely offensive that nobody will give her the one thing her undemanding soul needs: affirmation. She will never let it show, though; she’s an expert at smiling and saying that she was not bothered in the slightest.

Likes: March is a true lover of nature. Almost all of her time is spent outside, falling in love with beauty itself. Sometimes she takes long walks and doesn’t return for a day or two. The most common thing said of her is, “Where’s March?” Even since childhood, March would sneak out in the middle of the night so she could look at the stars. If she is stuck inside all day, she starts to feel dead inside. Surprisingly contrary to her peaceful nature, March adores the thrill of roller coasters. As a little girl, she would confidently march up to the ride lines and squeeze her way in. March never wanted anybody to go with her. She was independent, through and through.

Fears: March is actually afraid to be afraid. She feels like that once she becomes afraid, everything around her will crumble, and she will lose her grip on life. Being afraid means that she will lose everything she knows. March does not want to be surrounded by ashes or ruins. In order to avoid fear, she denies herself and then puts on a mask of fearlessness. “I’m not afraid,” March tells herself. “I am never afraid.” This is one reason why March is always outside or away from home. She quite literally runs from her fear and pain. March does not fight her demons. She sidesteps them and pretends they aren’t real. Even if she was faced with danger, March would feel the need to put on a calm face in order to deceive herself into feeling “okay.”

Lessons she needs to learn: Problems cannot be denied forever. The first step to feeling better is acknowledging that there’s a problem to begin with. It’s okay to tell other people that they’ve hurt your feelings. There is such a thing as healthy fear.

April

Appearance: April loves wearing light, airy, bohemian clothing. She strives to appear on the outside as who she is on the inside--gentle and carefree. TO an outsider, April may look as though she is about to float away on a dream; her eyes are soft and wandering. She’s pursued by men far and wide for her unique beauty, but she’s too busy doing other things to really notice.

Personality: April is a gentle and affectionate girl. If you cry, she will be there for you with tissues. Although uncomfortable with emotions other than her own, April genuinely wants to help other people. Most of the time, April is very inconsistent. She rarely finishes tasks given to her, and when she does, it takes her twice the time needed to complete it. But when it comes to helping friends and family, April will never give in to her capricious nature. In her spare time, April loves being outside, much like her sister March. Unlike March, however, April is a much lighter person. She is more affectionate and expressive, and doesn’t carry the weighty sense of realism that her older sister does. April is a bit shy. She doesn’t like initiating contact, especially with people she does not know. When surrounded by strangers, April will slip away, like a warm breeze through an open door. People won’t notice she’s gone until they look out the window and see her at the edge of a meadow, braiding flowers into her hair. In fact, April could be likened to a flower. She is delicately beautiful. The more you get to know her and water your relationship with her, the more she blooms.

Wants: April seeks beauty and love above all things. She wants to roam the world, drinking in all the wonder that lies before her. Thankfully, April is able to see beauty in almost everything. A broken cup is not trash to her; it is a precious thing meant to be fixed. A simple sunset is captivating. April also needs affection and attention, but she is picky. An acquaintance’s flattery will never do. She needs deep love; she needs to be cherished by the ones she herself cherishes. Without that, she wilts. Unfortunately, she can come across as a bit needy.

Likes: April loves nature, especially flowers. She never goes anywhere without wearing at least one. If she had the dedication and willpower, she would own a garden stretching at least an acre. She also enjoys stories. Sometimes she reads books, and occasionally writes her own poems. However, it’s much more pleasant for her to simply think about things. Her mind wanders too much for her to focus on writing a novel.

Fears: April is afraid that her friends and family will abandon her and leave her loveless. It is not being alone that terrifies her--it is feeling alone. The state of solitude does not bother April; in fact, most of the time she is not even around her loved ones. It is the feeling of being cut off, of having nobody to turn to or come home to, that makes her feel empty. She needs affirmation that her relationships are going to be okay. At her worst, April can become fixated on whether or not people care about her, and if she will end up feeling lost. Her mind can convince her into thinking that things actually are as bad as they seem. Then she flies into a tailspin of “what-ifs” and stretched assumptions. Her emotions will take hold of her.

Lessons she needs to learn: Just because you feel a certain way does not mean that things actually are that way. Sometimes you have to find the tenacity to do tasks you don’t want to do. When doubts start to fill your mind, realize that they’re irrational. Something small that goes wrong does not mean that your worst fears are coming true.

Appearance: May is a joyful girl, and it shows. She wears bright colors or sundresses--or bright-colored sundresses. May is the human embodiment of an exclamation point. She does not always dress eccentrically, like her sister April, but she appears carefree even so.

Personality: May is an absolute joy to be around. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her charm is irresistible, in a completely genuine way. May doesn’t try to be appealing; it just happens. May doesn’t “try” to be anything. She just exists, in a simplicity that some of her more anxious sisters crave. To an outsider, May appears like she’s never been sad in her life. This can be both a strength and a fault. Her optimism and radiance are depended on, but it can be a turn-off. Some people say that May is simply “too happy” to be around at all. May does not even realize the impression she may be giving to others. She’s caught up in herself--completely self-absorbed in the least melancholy way possible. May is truly expressive. When she’s happy--which is most of the time--she feels unexplainable energy running through her. She is prone to overexcitement and can even appear manic with her steady stream of enthusiastic rambling. When she is feeding off the momentum of a pleasant situation, her enthusiasm builds, and she becomes intoxicated with joy.

Wants: May wants to be a child forever. She loves feeling carefree and full of life. Many people have told her that she needs to grow up, but May pays no mind. If she feels like wearing a yellow sundress at a funeral, she’ll wear it. People have even called her uncompassionate because of this. May doesn’t mean it, though. She wants other people to be happy, too. She thrives on the approval of her friends and family.

Likes: May likes all things exciting. If she thinks it will make her feel alive, she’ll jump for it. She feeds off the momentum created by being with her friends and family, and will do outlandish things to keep it going. May enjoys being outside, on playgrounds, or anywhere with friends. While she would do fine at raves and concerts, that isn’t her preferred area of play. May prefers places where she can think clearly; her mind can’t run wild when she can’t even hear her thoughts.

Fears: May is afraid of herself. She does not want to journal, write about her life, think about her past, or pay attention to her inner voice. In her eyes, doing those things would drain the life out of her and make her “just another one of the cardboard people.” By that she means the people who hate their 9-to-5 jobs, complain all the time, and hate waking up in the morning. May doesn’t want to slow down, because she can’t stand the thought of losing her spark. She’d rather die tomorrow than know that the rest of her life will wilt away with age and misery. May annoys people when she refuses to think about anything other than happy fantasy. She doesn’t follow the news and doesn’t even take care of herself. As a child, when she got a cut, she would shrug it off and keep playing. Taking care of herself would mean acknowledging that something was wrong in the first place.

Lessons she needs to learn: Life's not always good. Sometimes you must sacrifice your desires to benefit someone else. It is healthy and enriching to think deeply about who you were and who you are now. People do not always want to hear about how great things are; many actually find this annoying. You have to grow up eventually.

June

Suggested types: ExTP sx/so, ESTP 7w8, ESFP 7w6 sx/so, ENTP

Appearance: June loves the nerdy-chic hipster look. She has always been interested in unconventional fashion and has never really followed what most people her age wanted to wear. June appears sharp and a bit mischievous, as if she’s always plotting something. And she probably is.

Personality: June is the kind of girl who would be kicked out of Sunday school. She has a bit of an authority issue, and will argue about anything and everything. June is downright belligerent, and just doesn’t understand the concept of being told what to do. As a child, she hopped from school to school, leaving a paper trail of disciplinary action behind her. She was a nightmare student--pranking, skipping, never turning in assignments, intentionally failing state-mandated tests just to mess with the system. She never does any of her mischief out of malice; she just finds it fun to be a troll. June would never seriously hurt or injure anyone. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, June has limits. She knows what’s okay to joke about and what isn’t. She’s sensitive towards others’ feelings when she tries. It just isn’t a priority. People are not her first concern; she loves having fun with friends, but she’d usually rather be out doing interesting things on her own. She doesn’t like having to negotiate what to do. When alone, she can call her own shots. If it makes any sense to say so, June isn’t mean--she’s just an asshole.

Wants: June really wants a free and interesting life. Her idea of hell is a boring, 9-to-5 job in a gray cubicle. If she has to do the same thing for more than a few hours, she’ll fly off the handle. Her mind is always thirsty, and June’s life goal is to finally quench it. She always finds that the more she learns, the less she knows. June wants to try everything. She could write a mile-long bucket list. If one were to describe her desires, it would be a buffet line. She wants to do just about everything.

Likes: June is especially attracted to big cities. The flashing lights, crowds of people, and diversity are like nourishment to her. June loves everything unconventional and weird. You’ll find her taking part in basket-weaving contests or going to psychics to debate the validity of astrology.

Fears: June is afraid of an empty world. It deeply disturbs her that everything is just a repeat of what has happened before. She recognizes that there are only a certain amount of notes, and combination of notes, that can be sung. Life is a rag to her, a rag that can be wrung out and squeezed of all water. That’s why she is so attracted to unconventional and revolutionary things; she seeks anything that could extend the life of the universe. June can’t deal with emptiness. She doesn’t want to be surrounded by death, despair, and meaninglessness.

Lessons she needs to learn: You need to learn to be consistent sometimes. You can’t always be your own boss. Authority is not always bad. Cooperation is important. Sometimes you have to think about the repercussions of your actions.

Appearance: July doesn’t really experiment with fashion. She keeps it simple with shorts, tank tops, and two pairs of boots she alternates wearing. For makeup, she likes to keep the focus on her eyes with dark winged eyeliner. She’s proud of her eyes--stormy, grey, and intense. Plenty of people criticize her fashion choices, calling them too edgy or risque. July doesn’t care. The more she’s criticized, the more stubborn she becomes.

Personality: July is bold and confident. She does not, and has never, cared what other people think. Compliments and insults are the same to her--just statements. Some have called her a woman of steel. July gets along well with her older sister, June, because they both have little regard for authority and rules. The difference is that July goes against the grain not because she thinks it’s fun to be contrary or trollish, but because she’s genuinely angry. June is carefree; July is impassioned. June makes trouble because it’s exciting, July does it because she’s fed up. She harbors a lot of anger and bitterness, and her resting face conveys this. People tell July she needs to lighten up, but she never does.

Wants: July wants a world of justice. Everywhere she looks, she finds corruption. The worst part is that she sees nobody doing a good job of handling it. Thus, she takes things into her hands. She’ll never report anything to the police, because she believes they’re just a part of the problem. July is not warm or caring by any stretch of the imagination, but she goodhearted. In school, there were a few guys who ruthlessly picked on students with mental disabilities. July cornered the bullies in the hallway and beat them up. This is just one example of July’s vigilante-style justice. She sticks up for those who are vulnerable. July is no stranger to prison. She was once locked up for hunting down and attacking a child predator.

Likes: July enjoys activities that help her channel her repressed anger. She enjoys running, and finds that it clears her head. July also enjoys getting tattoos. Every tattoo has meaning to her; none of them are mindless. July dropped out of high school the day she turned sixteen, but this does not mean she isn’t smart. She taught herself Spanish and enjoys reading political satire in her spare time. July is as sharp as a tack, and she’s surprisingly adept at reading people. She likes people-watching--observing the way people interact and thinking about what their lives are like.

Fears: July is afraid that she’ll lose control of herself and become like the monsters she fights. Her early childhood was rocky; she was roughed up and mistreated terribly. Because of that, July became guarded, suspicious, and vengeful. For years, July had issues trying to deal with her rage. After an incident in which she nearly killed someone who had deeply harmed her, July became terrified of herself. She was only thirteen at the time. Ever since, she has been much more cool and controlled. She constantly thinks to herself, “I’m afraid that I’m a psychopath. I’m afraid that I’m becoming one of them.”

Appearance: August always looks sharp and clean as a whistle. She dresses well, to the point where others comment on how put-together she looks. Even August’s pajamas look fresh and crisp. August wears makeup, but always in a natural way, to appear as if she’s bare-faced. Her bathroom counter is filled with makeup bags and hair products. Because of this, she never lets anyone in her room. Nobody would know it took that much to look so natural.

Personality: August is the type of person who attracts people, but also repels them. She is the classic “out of your league” kind of girl; everybody wishes they could be her, or be with her, but they are so terribly intimidated by her that they can’t say anything. August is indeed intimidating. She holds people to high standards, and doesn’t mind calling them out if they don’t meet them. Even in situations where compassion is required, August still expects others to be on top of things, like she is. Grieving a loss? Take a few days off and then get back to the job. Sick? Try working from home. August is a commanding person, but she’s also the life of the party in many ways. She’s humorous, energetic, and clever. The way she listens to you makes you feel like you’re the most special and amazing person on earth; however, she’ll act cold and demanding once the party is all over. She draws people in and cuts them off. August has hurt a lot of people. She doesn’t see it that way, though. She knows what she wants and, most often, gets it. August doesn’t believe in luck or fate. Fears: August is afraid to be honest and vulnerable. She will never admit that she’s struggling. She’ll drag herself out of bed, make herself look stellar, and wear confidence like a mask. “Fake it ‘till you make it” is her motto. If she only lies to the world and herself about how she’s feeling, she won’t have to feel it anymore. Sometimes August feels like a hollow pot--beautiful and decorated, but full of nothing. She wonders why she has no close friends, and doesn’t realize that it’s because she’s just too perfect. Nobody wants to be around someone who never feels, never hurts, and never lets anyone else feel or hurt. Nobody wants to be around someone who will blow up if you don’t perform well enough or give her what she wants. August thinks that she has no friends because she isn’t perfect enough, so she tries harder, alienating everyone even more. August feels desperately alone. She has admirers, acquaintances, but no friends. August hates who she is, so she works to become a perfect, ideal self. But of course, she won’t let herself admit that she’s completely shattered inside.

Lessons she needs to learn: Just be who you are. Everybody is broken in some way, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be perfect all the time. You’ll only have friends and be loved if you open your heart to be vulnerable. You can’t always get what you want. Be compassionate towards others, because humans make mistakes.

Appearance:September chooses to wear fashion from the early 1900s. She looks like a girl brought to life right out of a storybook.She refuses to dress like the rest of her “tasteless generation” as she would put it. September always appears somewhat lost in thought, but in a different sense than her dreamy older sister, April. April’s eyes wander around with wonder, while September appears like she’s staring deeply into something. Her gaze is distant and glazed-over, but fixed.

Personality: September is a wonderer, not a wanderer. She does not like to leave her room (a three-walled library filled with Victorian-era novels) or her front porch with a beautiful mountain view. She turns up her nose at the term “dreamer” or “free spirit.” September has a very intense mind, and she constantly ponders things, even things that seem so simple to others. September is also a snob. She’s impossible to please, and is always internally scoffing at “everyone else.” To others, she seems a bit pompous. In conversation, September is muted, sarcastic, and somewhat humorless. September just doesn’t value laughter and humor like everyone else. Her emotions are usually faint and unobtrusive. She’s almost always even-keel.

Wants: September wants to know “why” all the time.She rolls her eyes at people who take things at face value. For September, it’s untrue until she can find a reason why it should be true. September would like to live in a proper world. She rejects wild and raucous behavior, and hopes that one day everybody will go back to acting ladylike and gentlemanly. Fears: September is afraid of being forced to abandon her classic way of life. The thought of wearing skinny jeans and carrying around a smartphone makes her cringe. She wants everything to be “just so” and can become obsessed with even minor details.Being trashy or tasteless is abhorrent to her, so if she thinks she’s being that way, she will obsess over her mistakes until she returns to her refined way of life. September is afraid of losing her deep thinking and focused mind, instead becoming a vapid party animal. September needs to be ladylike, proper, and meaningful.

Lessons she needs to learn: You aren’t better than everyone else. It’s okay to not understand something. People who are different from you are not worse. Not everything can be the way you want it to be. You will have to learn to be accepting of lifestyles other than your own. Sometimes you’ll have to be content with what you’re given.

Appearance: October is the typical idiosyncratic wallflower. She likes to wear plain, dark clothing so as not to draw attention to herself. Black is the only color she has been seen wearing. October has never worn any makeup in her life. To her, makeup is a “deep betrayal of the trueness of humankind.” She wants to be uncomfortably real with the world. October has even gone days without brushing her hair, because she thinks that doing so would be disguising who she was meant to be. Thus, she appears quite unkempt.

Personality: October is a somber and mercurial girl. From an early age, October has wrestled with darkness. Her moods are violent and uncontainable. She collapses into sobs and cries until her whole body hurts; she screams and throws fragile things in sudden rage. Some think she is just dramatic, but that is not the case. October’s shocking emotionality is genuine, because her feelings are “uncontrollably intense,” as she describes it. When not racked with sobs or shaking with fury, October is just gloomy. She’s constantly lost in her head full of thoughts. She is almost always thinking about why life is the way it is, and why people are the way they are. October broods obsessively on these things, much like her sister September. Unlikel September, however, October lets it affect her emotionally. When she makes a sad discovery about life, her mood plummets and she just can’t get it out of her head. October has no friends. She has had acquaintances for extremely brief periods of time, but her moods are just too intense and unpredictable. October would call her new friends at 4 in the morning, sobbing and raging about who knows what. That is what is so peculiar about October; she is simultaneously private and open. She is painfully quiet and never speaks unless spoken to, yet she will pour out her darkest secrets to anyone who asks. October refuses small talk. If you start talking about how it’s cloudy outside, October will immediately turn the conversation to how empty and gloomy she feels inside, just like the sky.

Wants: October wants honesty. She is preoccupied with genuineness, within herself and in the world around her. She considers herself constantly naked, in a metaphorical sense. October keeps digging and digging into her soul, searching for the most honest parts of herself that could ever be found. October looks around and sees fakeness everywhere, and she finds it detestable. She just wants to run away from it all, off to somewhere where nobody can ever find her. October feels sad being around other people, because all she sees is happiness and stability. She feels like she’s never had either of those. Yet, because she believes everyone else is fake, she therefore thinks happiness and stability are fake.

Likes: October loves eerie, abandoned things--anything that describes her inner self. She likes exploring vacant lots and empty hospitals. October wants to experience horror for herself. Darkness is the only real thing for her, so she tries to live it out fully. She likes to sneak into funerals for people she never knew. October has experimented with nearly every drug and substance imaginable, although this is less of a like and more of an obsession with “what happiness must feel like.” Most of the time, however, she just sticks with plain old cigarettes. October spends entire school days skipping, hiding in the bathroom smoking and ruminating. Because of this, she has very bad grades.

Fears: Interestingly enough, October is afraid of hope and happiness. She craves these things, but she fears that if she will lose herself if she ever obtains them. Her identity is inseparably tied to her melancholy. At the same time, she’s afraid that she’ll never be happy. Her life has been struggle after struggle, emotion after emotion, and she doesn’t want to be miserable forever. This, coupled with her simultaneous hatred of positivity, makes it nearly impossible for October to accept help. She cries out, but then rejects assistance. She pushes away the people loves, self-sabotages, and then blames them for abandoning her. The saddest part is that she truly believes that they have abandoned her. She’s borderline delusional about the world being a terrifying place.

Lessons she needs to learn: Pain is not forever. You need to accept help and get better. You aren’t alone in your struggles; somebody understands. Happiness and hope are just as real as your pain.

November’s vivid imagination, which is capable of coming up with worst case scenarios, is also used to her advantage. She frequently surprises people with her creative talents. Friends truly appreciate her interesting way of life; November can be quite entertaining with her quirkiness and somewhat crazy antics. November is very sensitive and easily hurt. In order to process her emotions, November needs to talk to her friends and family to receive feedback or sympathy. She just has a copious amount of feelings. Personality: December is a personable, sociable, and self-aware girl. She’s the epitome of what a teenage girl “should” be, at least in society’s eyes. She’s a fantastic student, organized and motivated. It’s uncommon for her to miss an assignment or get less than an A. December is athletic, fit, and active on her school’s swim and track teams. Very popular and well-liked, December is invited to parties all the time. However, she always smoothly withstands the pressure to use substances or engage in illegal activity. December is highly in-tune with her feelings, which is why she has the confidence to get what she wants and do the right thing. However, December does a mean and whiny streak. At school, she can be rather exclusive with her popular clique. If she doesn’t get her way, she can pout. December is the baby of the family and is quite spoiled.
