"Freindshoring" should become a term. Since this makes so much more sense then doing production just about everywhere. Therefore if you are sending very low income jobs out into the world it really makes much more sense to give them to someone who is your long term friend or ally. Since this way you aren't boosting people that will challenge you with money and through financial loops the money will more easily come back if the area is friendly. Or that money will be invested into development of friendly regions that can bring something to the table because of that investment. Boosting friends rather than foes really makes much more sense on the long run (if this has to be done).
Her comments will be seen as a pointed response to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who has promoted the concept of “friendshoring” value chains to develop economic relations with politically allied nations, as the rivalry between the U.S. and China keeps growing.
