These guys who value Christianity as an identity are far removed from the actual teaching of Jesus Christ, Jesus was not/is not actually a Christian, I am unsure if his followers, particularly those connected most closely with Matthew or James, would have called themselves Christians, they definitely would not have meant it in the modern sense.

Most of this reminds me that the less something is a lived reality more likely it is to be revered in theory, as a theory, or "sacred" abstraction.

However, it is also most certainly dead at that point. Or undead. A zombi belief system.

None of them really achieved a lot for themselves or in their lifetime. I think the title could very well go to Trump. Self-promotion is really his only talent, and it basically got him the most powerful office in the world. Bernie Madoff was quite successful too.

I don’t think there’s a shadowy central authority running the world and pulling the strings, responsible for all the evils in the world. I think evil is us, but we like to scapegoat a boogeyman whether it be Freemasons, Illuminati, zionists, Russian oligarchs, white dudes, nation of islam guys handing out newspapers, etc.

People who believe those types of conspiracy theories are unable to acknowledge or see their own complicity in allowing and perpetuating what they hate and/or fear.

I mean sure, lower level, more localized conspiracies may take place, but nothing on the level these theorists suggest. I think a lot of that new world order type of stuff is a product of people romanticizing evil and externalizing it to the point that they can absolve themselves of any wrongdoing. It suggests an extreme black and white view, and sure, wouldn’t it be nice if evil was so obviously black and white and as identifiable as a gruff cigarette smoking man watching from the shadows. But evil isn’t some concrete force in the hands of a few that can be quashed once and for all, it isn’t one person or group of people—it lives in all hearts.

That way EU countries miss out on taxes of somewhere between 30 and 60 billion Euros. A more harmonized tracking system and more similar VAT rates could help a lot in the battle against this serious problem. Founding a bogus company and robbing the state of tax returns for fictional exports is a relatively simple and save way to get rich quick. High impact white collar crime at its best.
