When you consider the state of things in england right now you could hardly believe it would have been a good idea to remain a colony.

Australia and Canada are very different to any of the nations closer to that particular epicentre and I would suspect that's got a lot to do with immigration and their own national cultures.

Do you think if the US had remained a colony that it would have been the battle field for world war one or two instead of central europe?

Perhaps. Also possible the Russian presence in North America might be stronger in this timeline, and this would’ve played into Anglo-Slavic hostilities.

Also France May have retained a presence for longer as there would be no independent US to initiate the Louisiana Purchase and subsequent expansionist policies based on the doctrine of manifest destiny. So you could have potentially four European powers competing for the continent’s resources well into the 19th century. You’re probably correct that any major war in this scenario will feature the americas as an important theatre.

Trying to imagine a version of WW2 where the Nazis just get pushed into Bavaria and surrender, but keep the swastika on the state flag, slap it on their cars and say stuff like "The Third Reich is my heritage" lol

Triggering the cons with logic, reason, and honesty is fun. I can tell when they're having spiritual crises with their faith.

Here general election is just weeks away. However due to multiparty system it seems that the main 2 parties could have the worst score since the current political dynamic is established. They could fall as low as half of the seats (when combined). While alternative left and alternative right are growing in support and media coverage. The same goes for various third parties and independents. Therefore the current elections are likely to make a major shift in how local politics work. Since the nature of future administrations will fundamentally change if the balance is fundamentally changed. Most agree that the left is no longer left and the right is no longer right, so people are asking and searching for alternatives. While if none voters start to show up in mass the mainstream will probably be in serious problems. While everyone is careful with political predictions and plans since major shifts are on the table.

Have only skimmed this as of yet, but does the article comment on the role men play in the maintenance of male disposability and exploitation? Because, in my experience, many men buy into it, and that often includes men's rights groups. Why are such groups frequently filled with discussions of "alpha" and "beta" (and whatever other greek letters exist) , for instance?

The first part isn't bad until the heading "Gynocentrism is a sex-based form of exploitation".

I think part of the problem is that the author of the article is unwilling to analyze the situation along class-based lines (although he approaches this at times, often by speaking of a "female aristocracy"), because that's too commie. His discussion of a female aristocracy creating gynocentrism is curious. I have a hard time buying that in societies where women were barred from inheritance were somehow gynecocracies. When female monarchs did exist, they often struggled with legitimacy and in many cases where they did have legitimacy, they were de facto rulers rather than de jure rulers.

The basic "system" he describes existing now isn't necessarily inaccurate, but the supposed causes of it seem fairly dubious. The terminology is also highly misleading, although I suppose someone could say the same thing about patriarchy . To his credit, he doesn't prattle on about beta cucks and I will give him that, as well.

A basic problem all discussions about gender fall into is the absence of a shared vocabulary. The insistence of this article upon certain terminology serves to obscure his point and make his article less intelligible, but that's because he's part of a movement. I would suggest the author consider stepping outside the movement when writing in order to make his ideas easier to understand. It's not that he needs to start smashing the patriarchy, it's that his use of terms like "gynocracy" and "golden uterus" aren't great for building bridges.

I take issue with that terminology because I find it places the blame upon women to an inaccurate and unfair extent. I wouldn't say that I don't believe women never perpetuate these attitudes, but I would say that there are in fact, lots of men that do. Consider, for instance, the criss with policing at the moment. I don't buy that an accurate way to describe the force animating these policies and these behavior as "gynocentrism". Am I seriously expected to believe that men want to play out their power fantasies of being Charles Bronson or Clint Eastwood on the force because of something called gynocentrism?

Pick a fucking VP already.

No VP is going to make that piece of shit valid to me...

I'm writing someone in. I don't see with all these rabid social media campaigns why no one in this country can validly make a movement to vote for a 3rd party or write in the actual candidate they want, rather than choosing between questionable sexual abusing asshole vs. questionable sexual abusing asshole. :D Biden has been inconsistent at best. But I also do not want Trump and frankly, I'm just tired of the narrative that either party is going to save us.

They're both corrupt. They're both fucked up. And neither one cares about YOU, they care about the lobbyists who fill their campaign checkbooks.

Why would they take it down? There are all kinds of conservative MAGA videos on You Tube.

Youtube went through a phase where there was a lot of political commentary and "not so politically correct" youtubers being taken down or demonetized. A lot of the parody makers and stuff disappeared during then because their videos lost monetization and also they would "unlist" it so although it was there no one would be able to know without them popping out an update. So if you wanted something besides memes or super progressive videos found randomly without subscribing you wouldn't even get that. I used to watch tons of parody videos on youtube so I got pretty upset about the era of you could no longer make a joke, and some of the more "jokester" youtubers have disappeared now due to things like that. Sad thing is they weren't even doing blackface or being racist... I'm complimenting them on perhaps becoming a little more lenient and allowing both sides to speak their peace pretty loud, especially since a lot of african americans and lgbt people are put into a box of being strictly progressive liberal. I also laugh because I mostly watch music videos, and pop culture commentaries about celebrity feuds and stuff... XD

I watch a lot of You Tube. For the most part it's different interests I have - the last video I watched was about freeze drying fruits and vegetables.

I also watch people like Mark Blyth or Richard Wolff or others in the economic/political arena that don't worship capitalism. Because of that, I get a lot of suggestions like Common Sense or Hunter Avallone, although I don't know why, maybe it's because the stuff I watch are also podcasts? Not sure. But mostly bread tubers - some are good some are eh.

They have shut down The Serfs, which is lefty satire (maybe because they make fun of Gavin McGinnis?) so I never really buy that whole - they hate me because I'm conservative!!! - professional victim battle cry.

If You Tube really wanted to do us a favor, it would stop running commercials of Lara Trump begging people to wish Trump a happy birthday via text.
