[NF] NF females both drawn to and repulsed by NF males?

I imagine there's few things harder than being an NF male in this world. Sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't mode of existence.

Love my ENFP male counterparts, though it does seem more brotherly. In saying that I'm not really romantically attracted to men in general anymore, so eh. Some ENFP women are super attractive but most actually annoy me, sorry sisters! Other NF's, i'm actually cool with the idea of dating the extrovert NF's in general, but as always it's going to come down to the individual, think I'm giving the introverts a wide berth for now though.

Though INFJ male, as he approaches middle age, probably can balance masculinity with his inherent femininity, so I suppose that might be appealing to some women. You know, crying over a beautiful poem whilst chopping wood and stroking his beard. Not really sure what to tell the INFP guys. Sorry, bros.

I'm really good friends with several NF dudes. But for relationships I have always gravitated towards SJs and, to a lesser extent, SPs. They don't repulse me by any means though.

I quite enjoy many of the NF men I have met, but then I am not NF. I suspect I see something in the complementarity. A beautiful poem (or song) might inspire me to chop wood.

It bothers me that this thread title bothers me more than I think it should. I realize though that it’s largely because it opens up my distaste for arbitrary social abstractions placed over men in suggesting what it means to be “manly”, versus what, of the personality type as expressed through a particular gender is received by the other. So to clarify, I’m a little pissed off with my Si at the moment for tying this thread title to inner objections I have, rather than the thread title itself. It’s no smoother for a INTJ woman I would think. Not quite fitting the gender stereotype so many people expect you to shoehorn yourself into can make for an interesting time.

Hopefully it’s changing for younger men and women that share our types.

I had a much longer original comment but decided it’s a very complicated struggle and I’m not sure I can describe it properly. Also, I grew up in the 70’s/80’s and the prevailing attitudes when Gen Xers were growing up really started to change with us. Perhaps an entire generation being left to their own thoughts (latchkey kids) wasn’t a bad thing. We learned to question the status quo at an early age.

Never having been on the F side of things, I cannot refute this. I just know that I have never had any trouble brushing off confining expectations, mostly because I don't generally care about what people think and am more concerned with getting results. Only when the former impacts the latter will I bother with it at all.

Really .. maybe is your internet persona but i know real Intj's even if they said they don't think about emotions they are so "Fi" driven which make everything what you told a joke ( from others types perspective).

Actually you can have the some true ... most of them doesn't know how their "Fi" control them.
But really... Intj are the most emotional driven Nt type.

Recall that F/Fe/Fi isn't emotions, it is subjective judgment. We all use subjective judgment, even INTJs. When we are a bit older and more comfortable with it, we can use it to very good effect. It often comes out in unadvertised acts of kindness, and fighting for fairness or justice. Emotions, on the other hand, might as well be just another form of sensory input, like feeling cold or enjoying the taste of your favorite food. We all have those as well, but we value (subjective judgment) and handle that sort of input differently.

So, I agree that INTJs are influenced by Fi, often strongly. That doesn't imply that we are particularly emotional though, and I can assure you that both here and in RL, the consistent feedback I get is that I am not.
