I figure it is only a matter of time before ISIS like religious fanatics take over the show. It's like the scorpion/frog parable, these guys preach a more open approach and acceptance of different sects until they secure power, then it's back to the same old, same old.

The 20-month war between the army and the RSF has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced 12 million. It has destroyed most of Khartoum, with both sides battling to claim control of the area.
I think what Israel et. al. are doing will help prevent Syria from being much of a threat to surrounding countries. I don't think it will do much good to keep the peace internally. It might exacerbate the problem as it will lead to various factions with mostly small arms to all via for control in various regions. That itself might not be a bad thing. But religious fanatics tend to want to get everybody under their control. Not really. As my links and videos show Israel is already doing surgical strikes to cripple the chances that fundamentalist state can emerge out of this mess. Plus it is wiping out strategic assets that they don't fall into wrong hands. From what I have seen US is doing something similar.
On the other hand fights between the Kurds and pro Turkish forces appears is growing fairly fast.
Therefore the main problem in the equation is solved. But this isn't fully over story, the dust didn't really settle down yet.

But as you say, early days. I'm just prognosticating that Syria will end up pretty much in another complete mess.
