Donald Trump's involvement with Epstein needs to be evaluated in a court of law. It is important to note that this isn't the same sort of conspiracy theory as thinking Hilary Clinton kills and eats babies because she is a reptilian alien from another planet.

The FBI has charged and is conducting a trial of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell for having a demonstrated sex trafficking ring connected with modeling agencies. That sex ring is not imagined but is under litigation.

Donald Trump had social interactions with Epstein as neighbor and party buddy for years. One party involved the two men plus a couple dozen women. There was a documented sexualized nature to these parties. What isn't proven through litigation is sex with minors or rape from Trump, although there are depositions against him of this nature.

Donald Trump has life long documented connections to the mob and shared the same legal defense team led by Roy Cohn.

The circumstantial evidence of Trump having more than occasional innocent social ties with Epstein is significant.

This needs to go through the court system to establish as fact his degree of involvement. To compare this to the opposing conspiracy theories is absurd. The primary reasoning flaw in drawing a conclusion about Trumps involvement is conjecture, but far from absurdity or bullshit.

I can agree with all of this. What I object to is giving creedance to and/or spreading Iranian propaganda containing so far unproven claims.

We can signal our virtue by taking a moral stance with Trump, or we can remain with simple description.

“Whatever was here in terms of U.S. trust has really dissipated a lot,” said Broening, adding that U.S. scores on international trust had fallen toward the levels of Russia and China. “That’s a very far stretch from the shining city on a hill.”

Russia and China? That's like finding out your FICO score went from 825 to 500.

What do you think about this development?

QAnon Thinks Trump Will Become President Again on March 4

QAnon is merging with "sovereign citizen" and now thinks the U.S. has been a corporation and not a country since 1871, so laws passed since then are null? They think Trump is going to be the 19th president of the U.S. Corporation on March 4.

People are really pushing towards civil war, but I hope it fizzles out. All this quietness is too goo to be true, though. We do need to pay attention.

It's hard to tell what to do. These nuts and these nutty ideas should just be ignored typically because it's all stupid and doesn't deserve press. However, now with the Internet, they just sit there and fester anyway and spread the poison, so then it might bite everyone in the ass later. Large chunks of people have lost both the capacity and the desire to rationally consider their beliefs.

I mean, it makes sense that the world no longer finds us trustworthy or even stable. I just wish my earlier analogy in another post comparing us to Russia and other countries over that way wasn't actually becoming the truth...I'd rather be wrong about my assessment/speculations.

I hope that too, but it wont.

Where would be the safest place to live if there ends up being a civil war in the U.S.? Or heightened domestic terrorism trying to be a war but too stupid, drunk, and unable to shoot straight to succeed?

On losing the election President Trump had a tantrum and trashed democracy, and half the country revelled in the emotional release.

The other half of the country felt disgust.

Both halves experienced the therapy of emotional release, in opposite directions.

So we can call President Trump our Therapist-in-Chief.

As scary and dangerous as the Capitol riot was, there was a serious element of "dumb crook news" about it. Probably a good thing given how muted the response was.

I think I see what you are saying, For myself, when watching the footage, it struck me that these guys have no idea what they are doing. When in the chambers flipping through the documents saying, "there must be something in here", I could tell they didn't even understand what they were looking at. It felt like a bunch of high school kids deciding to ransack the principle's office.

I know there was reference to some veterans in the group, but I still wonder about those numbers being inflated because they would have known more of what they were doing. I think my concern is about the fact that violence can happen even when unskilled, although it is thankfully far less effective. Bullets can still kill people even when shooting from the hip.

I wasn't suggesting that the riot wasn't dangerous. To me, it looks like a small group or network of highly coordinated leaders/main participants who had very clear goals and division of labor, surrounded by a mass of loud, uncoordinated supporters whose main goal was to cause trouble and stand out. The second was almost a cover for the first, a distraction behind which the more organized and competent elements could try to reach their goals. The "dumb crook" aspect of the second means that they are the ones getting rounded up based on real-time selfies, social media bragging, etc. while the most harmful elements may be able to remain under the radar, biding their time until they try something else.

which is why i don't call it domestic terrorism they weren't organized and they have no real agenda or message besides acting stupid . The response to their behavior was more disgust then terror

Did you read my second post on the topic? There were elements among the rioters who were highly organized, with clear and very destructive goals. These certainly qualify as terrorists, just like the Muslim extremists who take violent action against the backdrop of street mobs shouting "Death to America".

I didn't see this post you must have posted while i was posting, I guess in my mind they don't seem to have an actual agenda, no one group claimed the action taken as their own and there is no manifesto (such as in the case of the uni bomber) . They are just not organized enough in my opinion.
