A former White House drug czar is arguing that South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s proposal to decriminalize possession of all drugs will “encourage” more substance misuse.

Did prohibition of alcohol decrease substance abuse? No.
Although consumption of alcohol fell at the beginning of Prohibition, it subsequently increased. Alcohol became more dangerous to consume; crime increased and became "organized"; the court and prison systems were stretched to the breaking point; and corruption of public officials was rampant. No measurable gains were made in productivity or reduced absenteeism. Prohibition removed a significant source of tax revenue and greatly increased government spending. It led many drinkers to switch to opium, marijuana, patent medicines, cocaine, and other dangerous substances that they would have been unlikely to encounter in the absence of Prohibition.

Why do these old farts fuck with Pete?

Bernie Sanders rips Buttigieg: 'We don't go to rich people's wine caves'

I see. So Bernie doesn't want to be president for all Americans. Step aside. Now.

Recently I came across the info that something like 80% of those bellow 35 favors Bernie, Warren, Tulsi or Yang. What means that the party is likely to change face in not so far future.

Joe Biden tells coal miners to learn to code

Clearly, there is great overlap in skillsets between the two professions. :D

It’s kind of dumb to tell a 55 year old miner to learn to code, but there is really no good reason younger people going into that profession should not learn another skill to fall back on, because even if the coal mining industry isn’t killed, automation will eventually make human miners obsolete. This isn’t a bad thing, considering the health risks of breathing coal dust and working underground. There’s a youtubers named turd flinging monkey who is a libertarian and frequently makes that argument about automation and technology being a good thing. You should check him out. Like it or not, automation will eventually allow dangerous jobs like truck driving to phase out. Coding is not hard to learn. I know a few people who have gone to school for it and believe me, none of them are geniuses. There’s many jobs like data entry as well which really don’t take much more than an average IQ

Perhaps people need to rethink their banal stereotypes of those who work in the coal industry.

Regardless, it's very tone deaf, although I understand he's your preferred candidate so you may not be willing to admit that.

Think there's a big difference between investing in fossil fuels and actually going down in the coal mines every day, bro.

An even bigger difference would be a coal miner with a genius level IQ who became a CEO of a coal company and a multimillionaire from investing. But no one wants to know about those people, it doesn't square with their idiotic stereotypes.
