complexity of the self

Enneagram Triads Quiz
Your Result: Four 77%

People of Enneatype Four construct their identities around their perception of being unique and fundamentally different from others. Of all the types, they are the most acutely aware that the persona is a construct – something which has been created and can thus be re-created but there is a paradoxical quality to this whole endeavor. Fours strive for authenticity, for an expression of themselves which is “true,” but the image they portray is, by its nature, delusory, and inevitably fails to convey the true complexity of the self. It also necessarily falls short of the Four’s own personal ideal. This sense of perpetually “falling short” contributes to the Four’s sense of inadequacy, as Fours feel that they are not only unable to live up to society’s ideal but to their own individual ideals as well. This dynamic of striving and falling short is at the core of the Four’s sense of shame, frustration and heightened feelings of self-consciousness.

I got 8.... Weirdest result ever!
Will take again....according to this I'd be in the 4-6-8 triad.

EDIT - Took it again and changed my answer where two seemed good and got 4 at 86%. My highesr gut type was still 8 at 54% and highest head types were 5 and 6 at 39% each. So 458, closer to my 451 typing.

People of enneatype Eight are essentially unwilling to be controlled by their circumstances. The central problem for individuals of enneatype Eight is that the need to avoid being controlled can manifest in the need to control, the need to be “in charge,” and the compulsion to dominate. This can lead to all sorts of practical difficulties, as the world is not always liable to conform to the dictates of the Eight’s will, but the deeper problem for the Eight is that the need to avoid any semblance of being controlled can rob the Eight of the fluidity, receptivity and acceptance that is generally necessary to live a full, balanced and truly happy life. What the Eight primarily desires is power sufficient to insulate the Eight from ever being vulnerable or weak. Such power is always a delusion however, and it is the search for it which prevents the Eight from attaining true health and integrity of character. (source: oceanmoonshine9)

I was expecting 9 to be low but not that low lol. I'm feeling moody tho. I normally score higher on 3 and lower on 2 and 1, too. But it got my tritype right, 748.

7 is assertive, positive outlook, and a frustration type so there's all of that plus whatever the characteristics of your other two fixes are is the sum of your neuroses starry or at least getting there

People of Enneatype Two relate to people from a standpoint of helpfulness. Twos see themselves as being not only strong enough to care for themselves, but able to care for others as well. The dark side of type Two revolves around their frequently unacknowledged need for appreciation. Twos don’t simply give; they give to get. And what they want in return for their service is the undying gratitude of those that they serve and to have their self-image as being loving and selfless reinforced. Because they focus on others, they tend to remain, unaware of their own neediness, while those in the Two’s life will often be very much aware that the Two’s giving is not entirely selfless. I feel like I might have way more neuroses than the numerous enneagram triads can account for...so what then? What's that swing-wing phenomenon thingie that Elfboy used to incorporate into his typings?...I think I need those haha.

I totally wanted you to explain this whole thing to me! so I didn't have to read but okay. (haha thank you so much for this)

Links for the triad information:

Centers - Heart (234), Head (567), Body (189) Enneagram Centres
Hornevian/Social Styles - Assertive (378), Compliant (126), Withdrawn (459) Social Styles
Harmonics - Reactive (468), Positive Outlook (279), Competency (135) Enneagram Harmonics
Object Relations - Attachment/Adaptive (369), Frustration (147), Rejection (258) Object Relations

Reiterating again, the way the triad intersections work means that the order of results will seem peculiar depending on which triads you emphasized. Ie, if you relate more to the withdrawn or frustration parts of 4 but pick a lot of reactive responses, you'll see a higher 6 and 8 score than what you're used to. I'm thinking of posting the scorer later to help facilitate feedback.

cascadeco
Looks like high reactivity (468) again. I will probably ask those with absurdly high Reactive scores to retake after the tweak.

Purplemoon
Seems you identified most with the withdrawn triad (459) followed by the reactive group (468)

Alaska
Another high reactive (468) result though it looks like you also scored a decent amount of points in both withdrawn (459) and rejection (258) groups.

Vasilisa
Similar to Alaska though it looks like either heart (234) or rejection (258) had a stronger influence considering how high your 2 result is.

OrangeAppled
Because of the intersections, the quiz isn't really equipped to assess tritypes. It's only looking at which triads you seem to identify with. In your case, the reactive (468) group got the most points. Reactive is mutually exclusive with the Competency (135) triad (both are Harmonic groups) which is the most likely reason for the diminished 1 and 5 results.

Forever
You're the first one to have a non-Reactive (468) or non-Withdrawal (459) based 4 result. Instead, you seem to primarily identify with the Frustration (147) Object Relations group.

magpie
All of your scores are elevated so it's harder to tell which triads you id'd with. I'll hazard a guess that Heart Center (234) followed by Rejection Object Relations (258) group are the primary contributors to your results spread. Along with the perpetually elevated reactive result...

Masokissed
9 is low because it looks like you didn't id much (if at all???) with the Withdrawn (459) Social Style, Adaptive/Attachment (369) Relations, or the Positive Outlook (279) groups. Rather, it seems that Frustration (147) , Reactive (468), and Assertive (378) contributed about evenly to your results.

Bush Did 9/11
Your 2 result seems to be the combination of high Positive Outlook (279) and Heart triad (234) scores.

Punderstorm
Seems primarily Positive Outlook (279). I can't identify any specific triad contributing to that high 5 score. Withdrawn seems unlikely because of the low 4. Competency seems unlikely because of the low 1. I'll guess either Head Center (567) or Rejection Object Relations (258).

Kas
This is interesting. Heart Center (234) and Adaptive/Attachment (369) ids probably caused that high 3. But that 4...you don't seem to have a stand out contributing triad. Your probably picked a little bit of Withdrawn, a little bit of Reactive, Heart, etc. Everything but Frustration seems to have contributed to the 4 result.

Based on your results spread, you got 2 because you almost singularly choose answers associated with the Heart Center (234) and Positive Outlook (279) groups.

Your Result:blessSix

78%

People of enneatype Six are essentially insecure— as though life has never quite provided them with a proper footing, as though there existed nothing, either internally or externally, which could serve as a solid foundation. The type Six fixation is therefore deeply and fundamentally existential, and there exists at the core of enneatype Six a tight knot of anxiety, an essential disquietude, and a deep seated desire to find something or someone stable enough in which to place some trust. Given this essential dynamic, it is not surprising to find that Sixes have core issues centering around the contrast between faith and skepticism, trust and distrust, and the legitimate exercise of authority versus the abuse and misuse of power. All Sixes share these core issues, but they respond to them in quite a wide variety of ways, making type Six the most variegated of all the enneatypes and the most difficult by far to describe with specificity. I am confident of core 6 and mainly identify with 614 although I can see 649 as a possibility. There were questions I related to more than one of the three given options. They were the 'fight-or-flight' options and depending on the circumstances I may react either way which is a very 6 thing.

Ps- I like this quiz and find it cool that I scored highly for all the head types

wth?

I am definitely, 100%, NOT a 7.

Enneagram Triads Quiz
Your Result: Seven

People of enneatype Seven are essentially concerned that their options remain open, their lives unconstrained, and their ability to find happiness unfettered by what they see as the largely petty concerns which seem to consume most people. Sevens are determined not to allow their lives to succumb to boredom or inertia, or to the lethargy of a dull, pedestrian existence. Sevens want more than that. They always want more. Given such an ebullient description, it might be difficult to appreciate the fact that Sevens are essentially fear types who are in flight from pain, always striving to remain one step ahead of their inner demons. There is a sort of existential claustrophobia at the heart of enneatype Seven. They sense that the walls are always just about to close in. Thus, they are always developing strategies for escape.

Dewstring Your id with the head center (567) appears to be accurately reflected in the results. You also seem to id strongly with the withdrawn (459) social styles triad.

burymecloser As the first post indicates, the quiz is still in development. From your results spread, it looks like you identified strongly with the Head center (567), withdrawn social style (459), and Positive Outlook (279) harmonics triads. Withdrawn is mutually exclusive with Compliant (126) and Positive is mutually exclusive with Reactive (468) which likely contributed to your diminished 6 result.

If anyone wants to know definitively how their specific answer choices contributed to their triad results, PM me what you picked for questions 3-15 and I will give you a more thorough breakdown. Doing so will also allow me to use my l33t Excel skills to see which answers are being disproportionately picked by people whose self-identified core type is "out of triad".
