NOOOO.

That's when the fat comes! You must punish and hate your body.

Nah. I'm moderately active and have a decent metabolism.

I also learned relatively recently that I have very odd but beneficial eating habits. I usually make only one or two meals a day that are a little bit bigger than what I can eat in one sitting, and I will "graze" from them over the course of the day. I'll have my breakfast/lunch meal and just eat a little bit of it over the course of several hours then it will be dinner time and I'll graze until a little bit before bedtime. I sometimes crave sweets before bed, so I'll eat like a cookie or a fruit snack before I turn in.

I've never thought much of this since I've apparently done it since I was a toddler. Or to put it another way: I apparently decided as a toddler that this was a good system for me and have stuck with it into my late twenties, because Je. I didn't even know this was weird until an ENTP coworker mentioned it to me.

My ideal body

Well I generally prefer to be a healthy weight, a little full, I do some practicing but not enough to meet my goals
I don't want to be too muscular, I don't like too much muscles and too little fat because it would be more of a body obsession than health being

Actually you might be surprised at how different the male ideal of a female body is from how women view themselves (and presume men do).

I posted an image on here a few days ago to show this. Men actually, it seems, by and large don't find very skinny women to be the most attractive...something I can affirm personally. My pet theory on why this is is that a woman with no breasts and visible abs seems sexually ambiguous, so these are features which to the reptilian parts of our brains, imply your hormones are out of kilter and hence that you have low fertility.

The ideal woman for a man seems to actually be much closer to a plus-sized model, around a size 12. A rounder face, strongly defined hips and breasts, an ass which is not rock hard, and a bit of stomach fat. Basically - sexual dimorphism. We don't want to date ourselves and are curious about how the ladies are different to us.

Plus-sized models are not the same as plus-sized women. Size 12 is a size large in regular stores. It is not plus-sized. Also, size 12 in the UK (where that reference usually comes from) is about an 8 in the USA, which is a medium size. That size is like Scarlett Johanssen and Marilyn Monroe in their hips/bust, perhaps Beyonce or JLo in softer phases, and Monica Bellucci as an older actress (not her modeling days). Yeah, we all know that is hot, when the body proportions are also ideal. Most of those women have a waist much smaller than the hips/bust too (ie the waist may be several clothing sizes smaller).

Being curvy is fine...as long as the fat is in the "right places", aka, the hips/butt and breasts. Having a big belly and big arms is another story.
Too bad we cannot spot reduce fat or make our body only gain it in certain areas. A lot of that is genetically determined. Many women may feel and BE more attractive at a smaller size because that is the only way they will not have a belly and loads of cellulite. Tiny waists & slender limbs in proportion to the rest of the body seems a major factor in what is sexy vs pudgy.

Being "soft" is fine too...as long as you don't have cellulite, which men express revulsion to also. Unlikely for women of that size & shape to be totally smooth & firm. What is shown in magazines is photoshopped. They take out bulges and dimples that go hand-in-hand with curviness for most women.

In past eras, women often wore corsets or girdles to achieve unrealistic hourglass ideals, and swimsuits and clothing in general revealed a lot less skin. These were harmful anyway...they could cause a lot of damage to women's bodies as well as discomfort and restriction in movement.

Instead of undergarments, women may use surgery now to achieve the cartoonish hourglass ideal (see that Kardashian nightmare). I don't find this ideal to be anything close to comforting for women, nor more achievable/natural than a skinny ideal. Besides, most women want to look like shapely actresses and swimsuit/lingerie models that are featured in men's magazines, not skinny teenage runway models who are basically canvases for someone else's art, not objects of desire.

Some kinda morphing, timeless, genderless, energy body. If not that, then something else just as pretentious, to one-up everyone in this thread.

Bettie Page. I'm around the same weight and height (she was 5 ft 5 + 128 pounds,) though I know I'll never carry it quite as perfectly as she did. But as someone who'd really wanted to be skinny growing up, she frequently reminds me of how perfect one can look at her weight. I highly doubt the average man would disagree:

Ideally? Chris Hemsworth. Not gonna post pictures. I'm not even attracted to him, I'd just like to look like him... 190 centimeters tall with some good muscle without looking like a complete bodybuilder.

Anything attainable isn't an ideal body for me. However, I've been using Umji from Gfriend as leg inspiration goals since I think I can get there (besides the couple extra inches she has on me), as long as I can get dysmorphia out of my head. She's not extremely skinny for a k-pop star.

Though if I had a choice, I'd just have no body at all.

I don't know if I'd agree it automatically is, because that depends on height. xD I still go by BMI in cases like this (even though I know many don't like it. I think it's useful sometimes with explaining ratios) and hers was like smack dab in the middle. As is mine for my height (which is more because I'm a bit taller) and I don't consider myself skinny.

I'd have considered skinny to be like the picture below, and Bettie definitely seemed like she weighed more than this.

For me, myself, it would probably be Arnie when he won Mr Universe the first time, body building has changed a lot since then, shoulders, chest, arms were more important than abs back then and now I actually think a lot of the main muscle groups are over developed, plus I think the muscles in the neck are like too thick and built up too.

Its subjective. I guess.

Also, I like the level of development in legs back then too, I think that can be way, way over developed now too. Also, I think height is awesome too, I am almost six feet tall but I'd like to be taller, like the actor in Conan 2 who was taller than Arnie, and I think may have been an instructor behind the scenes, I've seen pics of him and another guy training with Arnie and they make Arnie look like a wee short guy, like Stallone.

Yes well, I'm shorter than she was and I believe 128 is on the edge of healthy for me. Lower and I'd stop having my period, weaken my bones, have my hair thin, etc. And I speak from experience.

Her measurements were 36-23-35.5. That 23 is like a 00 sized waist in today's sizes. With 36 hips, like a size 2. Emma Stone's measurements are 34-27-33 and 117lbs. So her body shape is quite different, and she's a bit thinner, but I think you're looking at the ratio of the measurements and not the actual measurements themselves.

I feel like it's important to point this out because implying those sizes are not skinny/thin only furthers unrealistic and possibly unhealthy expectations for women's bodies.

I can understand with her measurements being so small and such, but I actually wasn't referring at all to how she carries the weight; I feel that one can look at her and tell that she wasn't definitively skinny. There are models who are like 150 pounds at her height who have small waists and one wouldn't suggest they are skinny solely based on where the weight lands.

And your perspective does make sense, but it also helps me to not view that as skinny -- me having that mid range BMI which is again what Bettie had -- because I have battled with EDs and it was a stable place for me to land on. That's why I said that I personally didn't see her that way/I feel that her weight was very healthy for her which any doctor would likely also agree with. Perspectives change from person to person, so I use BMI as evidentiary support.
