That narcissist Mr. Fantastic can't manage more than 9% at rotten tomatoes.

I have no desire to see it, even though I like the actors who play Ben Grimm and Doctor Doom. I'm amazed that they managed to make it even worse than the first two Fantastic Four movies. I mistakenly assumed that was impossible to do.

Have you ever heard of the Roger Corman Fantastic Four movie? It is MST3K worthy.

This is what happens when filming rights deals are contingent on pumping out a movie every few years. It's not about making something good, it's about trying to ride a gravy train and keep it on the rails as long as possible.

Heard of it. Never seen it, though.

It's on a quality level comparable to the Star Wars Holiday Special, in that it never received an official video release. Generally, when that's the case, and has a major franchise name attached to it, you know it must be atrocious.

Of course, some people regard it as the best Fantastic Four film. The scary thing is, it's hard to argue with them on that, although my knowledge of the source material is not great.

Well I have $8 off on my ticket so I'll go, but I expect nothing from the movie anymore. Or rather I hope it's so horrible I can experience its horribleness as pleasure.

Too many cooks + Trank being rather untested. He also likely lost Star Wars Rogue because of how he didn't bear up well directing this. And passing blame (even if accurate) when the reviews tanked.

Is he? I thought the best part of the 2000's Fantastic Four was The Human Torch, and as we all know, Chris Evans went on to do bigger and better things.

In the comic, Human Torch isn't actually black. He's always been portrayed as a white guy since the 1960's since his first debut in the comics. In the F4 movies, he's played by a black guy.

He was white in the Jessica Alba one.

I don't care what color anyone is. Nick Fury has always been a white guy too, yet no one complained much about the Avengers. If the FF movie was good, it wouldn't be an issue.

Comic books are always spinning and reinventing to become relevant to the culture.

Yeah. It's the same reason I don't see why people care that Boomer is an Asian woman instead of a black guy in BSG, or that a stormtrooper will be played by a black guy.

Nor do I understand why people are upset about Ghostbusters being women. I'm more upset that they won't leave Ghostbusters alone.

Human Torch and Nick Fury are iconic characters. These characters have been around since the 60's. Having their race chance does a great disservice to the character's history. Race does matter if you made a conscious effort to change it or even argue why it shouldn't matter.
