Daniel Craig Bond films operate according to reverse Star Trek* rules. The odd numbered ones are good, and the even numbered ones suck.

By the way, I think Rami Malek is my favorite villain in all of these. I can't speak for the non-Craig films, because I haven't seen enough of those. I do like classic Blofeld, though. (Regarding the other one, I think they picked the right guy to play the part, with the wrong script.).

I learned something crazy last week. I knew my Mom enjoyed Sean Connery as James Bond and refuses to watch anyone else. Apparently, she also read the books. I'm surprised and pleased by that, although I haven't read them. She's always been more of a reader than my Dad, but I appreciate it because it sounds like something I might do.

That's interesting. Not sure how many people have read them. I did collect them all some years ago (the Fleming ones). They're pretty short books and fast reads, I don't even recall if most of them break 200 pages (?).

The John Gardner ones (and any that followed) were generally longer.

I don't hear people talk about them that much, so I don't think many people have. Presumably, it was only the Fleming ones. For some reason, I thought they would be much longer.

Here's someone's list of the word counts. With pages i was referring to the original paperbacks, but you can see how slim they are.

It's so paranoid, like someone constantly looking over their shoulder, knowing their enemies could be anywhere, and maybe starting to unravel.

I love it.
