I was afraid I was going to get blue. I'm kind of sick of that lightsaber color.

Green

Green lightsabers are generally used by the most powerful of all Jedi. Users are generally wise, mature, and skilled. They prefer to rely on their negotiation and mind over their weapons if possible. They are known for their wisdom and their desire for peace.

The best known users of this color are Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Luke Skywalker.

Purple

Since purple is made up of red and blue, some think that a purple lightsaber represents someone who is a blend of both the light and dark side. The story goes that this was actually a personal request from Samuel L. Jackson, which George Lucas eventually accepted. This was because Jackson wanted to stick out during the big battle in Attack of the Clones.

The best known user of this color is Mace Windu.

Honestly I'm surprised, I thought I would have a more blue or red Saber.

@Julius_Van_Der_Beak how come you don't like blue? Overrated?

Yellow

Another color that is able to be used is Yellow. The color is used by The Jedi Temple Guards. At the end of The Rise Of Skywalker, we also see Rey get a new lighsaber that is yellow.

The best known wielder is Rey, who received it at the very end of Episode 9. She previously used a blue one for her training. Asajj Ventress also acquired one of them as well after originally using red.

Black

A black version of a lightsaber exists, which is called the Darksaber. This is the ancient blade that was created by Tarre Vizsla, who was the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi. Whoever holds this blade is believed to be the rightful leader of Mandalore.

It really just has to do with the way the Disney trilogy held up the importance of the Anakin Skywalker saber, which was just pandering. It doesn't really mean that much in the course of the prior films. It symbolized Luke's connection to his father, that's all. When he finds out who his father is, he has to forge a new path.

These later movies tended to treat it like a holy relic, like one of the signs by which you can identify the Chosen One.

I was hoping that since it was destroyed at the end of TLJ they would give Rey a cool new saber in the next film. They sort of did that, but they saved it for the end of the movie for some reason.

The reverence with which it was treated was stupid; it was the Youngling Slayer 5000. But this is Abrams, and he has to pander to nostalgia whether it makes sense or not.

If I'd gotten a double-bladed blue saber (which was apparently in the pipeline, but Abrams considered it too " dark side" unlike the Youngling Slayer 5000), blue wouldn't bother me.

I wish they had left Grogu with Luke for much longer. That would have been so much better. But of course, morchandising. That third season just felt like someone playing around in their toy box; there wasn't really a great story.

There was also this weird book in Legends called Darksaber, where the Hutts tried to build a mini-Death Star. It fell apart because they used shitty cheap labor. I suppose the less said about that book, the better.

I think yellow's pretty cool, actually. I'm considering changing the main character's saber color to yellow, given her affinity to fire and the fact that she can't very well use red.
The test itself just was pretty lame, so I'm not inclined to feel strongly about any results.

I agree, mostly fan service on the movie side.

Yes, that's true. The unfortunate thing was that I was really excited for the sequel trilogy, but the trilogy tended towards laziness when not borrowing from the worst parts of the EU. They didn't care about anything in the end, because they knew there would still be butts in seats.

Short term profit gain for their shareholders. The saddest part is that George Lucas literally created an outline for the movies so that they can basically be copy and paste. Somehow that just was thrown out the window.

Then not touching EU really was a blessing in disguise when I think more about it lmao.

Since all the disastrous projects, I stopped being too dedicated to a specific medium, I find what I like and that's it. To me it feels like it's only a matter of time before someone runs it to the ground.

That would have been interesting from what I have heard. It sounds like midichlorians would have been important to the story. I'd rather watch that though than the ST we got. At least it would have been something different.

They have to milk every lost dollar out of it.

I might re-read the Thrawn trilogy.

Blue

Blue is the most common lightsaber color that you will see in the galaxy. Generally speaking, users of this color are Jedi Guardians that display bravery and are great warriors. Chances are that you don’t want to meet a Jedi with a blue saber on the battlefield as they are known for their fighting abilities.

The best known users of this color are Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, prior to his fall to the dark side.
