maybe you are projecting the religious fervor of your hatred for the fat orange man on to people who just don't want to pay higher taxes to an already corrupt beauracry?
You came back with this later. I don't judge people on appearance. I have not criticized his appearance except once back in 2015 I quoted the "hell toupee" meme because of it's punny comedic value.
I don't think that every person who votes for Trump has religious fervor, but there is a significant number that do. There are also a lot of people who seek the approval of relatives and friends who support him, and there are people who naturally compartmentalize their sense of reality, so they don't have a problem with his moral violations if they can be convinced he is a good business man. (I'm not convinced). People think they are being objective when they compartmentalize or when they are good at dismissing moral data points. I don't think that is objectivity. The number of people in the U.S. earning over $400K is apparently 25%, so that alone would not be enough to get Trump elected. I am also sure that plenty of people with wealth do not have empathy for those who earn less.
I have a doctorate, two masters degree, and have collaborated with professionals who are world class, and I make $30K if I'm lucky (and I'm not this year by a long shot). I also owe a boatload of student loans and do not own any property. I have no expectation of life being financially fair, and society hasn't been for me or my family at all, and I do resent wealthy people who are solely concerned with their pocket books and vote only to grasp hold of a few more dollars.
The Republican Party has been focused on de-regulating the corporations since Reagon and the trickle down economics has taken the piss on the rest of us. So, richy rich who doesn't care if Trump gropes and rapes, mocks the disabled, bombs the hell out of Syria, has every policy to make the U.S. and corporations as dominant as possible at the expense of everything else in the universe, if that citizen votes to keep more of that paycheck that comes from exploiting the working class whose labor is not being properly compensated, then that's his guilt.
The religious fervor I described for Trump is what it takes to get the poor to vote for him. I'm sure the rich do it coldly, emotionlessly, punching in their fucking numbers with the arrogance to assume they are "worth it".
