Socionics- What is your quadra and why?

I am LIE with dominant Te, so I'm part of the Gamma club including SEE, ILI, LIE, and ESI.

I'm said to be decisive, serious and "democratic" like all Te/ Fi/ Se/ Ni (here I'm confused because functions are different from MBTI).

The description is interesting. As if MBTI was describing my sanguine temper in details, and socionics gives a description of what is important to me.

I'm gonna be a bit less sceptical about it...

I don’t identify much with my own or any of the other quadras. And the quadras are supposed to a cornerstone of the theory. By comparison I could easily see myself as an NF, or possibly NT as runner up, in Keirsey’s 4 temperaments, which is was what I would expect from the quadra profiles, if socionics lived up to some of its hype. I do however identify a lot with socionics Ni.

I don't really get why quadras are so important; I've met a typist who used them almost as a sole barometer. Plenty of what they say seems to be culturally influenced, even moreso than actual JCF.

Quadras are actually very real and not at all very culturally influenced. Quadras determine socially held values and by that I do not mean stuff like what politics you believe in, but values such as how you want social interaction to occur, for example, or how you view the future and how to plan for it, how you think the best way to problem-solve is like. Quadra values can be found in a lot of cultural artifacts such as memes; the thug life meme is very typical of beta, the Grand Theft Auto franchise, especially its later installments, is also very reflective of beta values and humor. TV series like True Detective is a good example of gamma, especially more on the NiFi end, or TV series like Game of Thrones reflect a preference towards Se values and so on and so forth.

Quadras are very real and meaningful in order to pin someone down in a more generic sense, and if you take a bunch of people regardless of where they come from who share quadra, you will begin to see how their social interaction is going to reflect in a way that is true to the quadra. That is how IME works.

All things considered, the stark duality between periods of deathly-serious intensity and ridiculous mental retardation playfulness could point to Beta, though most people on this site tell me I'm not Betan. I'm always boisterous and melodramatic, so that seems to fit.

I relate to aspects of both delta and gamma quadras. I suspect I belong to the delta quadra, though.

I don't fully understand the differences between the quadra. I can look up the descriptions but I don't grasp "how" those descriptions came to be.

Gammas (ENTj, ESFp, ISFj, INTp) are climbing/walking out of the abyss. If the Beta Se/Ni subtypes are all about the last few shovels/wildest disco/having sex with Satan, Gamma Se/Nis are the morning afters waking up and scrabbling at the walls up. In some ways, they're forever clawing the prison walls, a survivor of with the instinct of the dance fading away to be replaced with a determination of movement upwards. For these people the experiential quality has peaked and they possess the ability to survive admirably in the abyss. But their mindset is shifted upward and slightly away. For Gamma Fi/Te subtypes, the clarity of rock bottom has faded slightly. They're overcome with memories/instincts of it now and again but for a large part concentrate on the trek uphill.

I like it. This is how I've felt about goodness even since I was a little kid, like I'm here to spend my life climbing toward it from below.

Alpha, although sometimes I identify with Gamma descriptions. I least identify with Delta, and only slightly moreso with Beta.
