ISFJ, and I would say: It depends.
Sometimes I do want details to put things in proper context. For instance, if one of my maintenance people how something happened.
However, sometimes I already know what happened or ultimately its irrevelant at that particular point in time what happened and I just need the bottomline. For example, if a septic drain line is broken and spewing poop everywhere. I really don't care HOW it happened when I find out about it, what I want to know is HOW TO MAKE THE POOP FLOW STOP. So when my septic tech start lecturing me on the pipes and such I really just want to go "Yeah yeah yeah, just plug it up already!"
Once it's plugged up, THEN I'd like an explanation. But not while Old Faithful is geysering brown sugar in the front yard of this home.
Another example of when I'm not interested in details: When a tenant calls me, and tells me her AC is blowing air but not cold air. THAT right there is all the info I need because regardless of whatever she says next, my response is going to be the same (Call an HVAC tech). The story how she came home to discover it, how hot it is in the house, how much this is all inconveniencing her, how she's got a party the next day and blah..blah..blah.
None of that shit matter. None of it. My response, will always 100% be the same, "OK ma'am, I will try to get an AC tech out there as soon as possible."
In fact, by continuing to bather on with superfluous details, she's actually HOLDING ME UP FROM DOING THE THING I NEED TO DO!
Anyway, kind of went off on a tangent there but there you go.
