You can't get funding to cure polio if you've already cured it.

You get funding to study a problem, maybe even to propose solutions, but never to implement them, unless you don't want that grant money next year.

It took 8 years for British court system to conclude this case about the Iraqi citizen in occupied Iraq, and the British government offices dragged their feet and kept denying responsibility to the very end.

This is just one such case, I would expect thousands like this happened in Iraq during occupation by Western forces.

Western media is no different, only more subtly-managed. They are highlighting what they need you to see and managing your perceptions as they see fit.

Edit: They are weaving a comfort bubble around you so that you can feel good about yourselves and proud about your "democratic" countries that are better than other countries.

The company FdI keeps in EU Parliament as a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group certainly indicates the party could very well govern more conservative than populist. However, the reality is that FdI is still relatively new and has not yet led a government, so nothing is certain. Populist policies are interspersed with more conservative ones in the election manifesto, which makes it difficult to parse intentions. In addition, the approach of a potential center-right coalition will change depending on the strength of each contributing party.
