I keep coming across people mentioning Zelensky's cloths and how according to some MAGA sympathizers his appearance in the oval office was a sign of disrespect. When confronted about it in the oval office he has answered in the oval office that he will wear a suit again when the war is over. But since I am not sure how often American tv shows images of him meeting people in high offices, just to be on the safe side and in case any of you hear anybody (maybe a Trump supporting aunt or colleague) wondering about this ...

This is him shortly before the war started:

He is the leader of a country under invasion and occupation. And while he is technically not the Ukrainian commander-in-chief (that's Oleksandr Syrskyi) he is the constitutional "supreme commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine". He has grown a beard and worn attire like in the photos - usually dark, military style and with the national emblem, the trident - ever since the invasion started (also worked out to beef up and appear more manly and inspire more confidence among the troops, I suspect). He has actually made a deliberate effort and worked hard to adopt this somewhat rougher "I am with our men and women at the front" look. It is key to his political message at home and abroad.

Kinda speaks volumes doesnt it? Any Leader who would wear a suit and tie while their country is burning and their people's lives being shredded...Don't know if that's a leader I would want to trust in war time. Priorities are so skewed in my homeland rn.

I have to admit, when I heard that reporter asking him about his clothes at the white house meeting, my first thought was: finally, someone asking a MAN about what he is wearing.

To me it is a bit like Jonny Cash always being the man in black. Just goes to show where Trump and Vance's priorities are.

Uhhhh..use the vacuum to start talking about super popular lefty policies, supported by most Americans. This is an incredible opportunity that the Democrats will 100% squander. Except Bernie - going to his rally this weekend✊

This is what Churchill wore to the White House:

So.... this story broke here in Baltimore today.

GSA seems to be gutting almost the entire campus of Social Security. Literally every building on the campus is on here except for the big building in the middle (where I work) that some of these buildings are connected to or literally right against so I don't even know how you can separate them. Even the child care center is on the block, so fat chance of having a drop off for your kids on campus if you're forced RTO.

(If we're going to RTO at all and simply not just have everyone fired, which would include the entire Systems division for all of SSA.)

All the buildings listed in Woodlawn, MD, essentially:

It's really sad. When I first came here, it was a thriving campus full of people. The buildings were humming. The large pillared hallways (4-5 floors of them stacked) were full of people between meetings. It just felt very alive, very active, very productive. It was kind of awe-inspiring to see so many people in one place who knew so much and wanted to help their fellow citizens.

COVID shut everything down, it became a ghost complex for a few years, but they had a few options afterwards:

- Sell the campus and go pure telework with a smaller facility for day meetings.
- Bring everyone back RTO completely on campus.
- maybe other combinations?

Now it's all feeling like they're just gonna sell everything + shut down SSA, or privatize the core of it (?).
(I don't even know how that would work. This isn't simple coding and data maintenance.)
Not exactly sure of their plan, but those maniacs are ACTUALLY trying to do this, apparently.
Like, WITAF??

(There's also a more banal, less destructive possibility -- one of Trump's cronies will buy the property and then just lease it to the gov to grift the American people.)

I don't know whether I'm more flabbergasted by the sheer audacity of how blatant this all is or that no one is doing shit about it.
But I guess this is where we are!

tbh I rather suspect that is the whole point of the cult. To break the hearts of the people.

Here too - two federal buildings in Detroit. It's so fucked up.

Just glad I bought my fertilizer and garden soil back in January.

Wait - didn't you say SSA was having to rent office space to accommodate all the people returning to the office?
