And if you tell the average american these days that our news used to be more like your news, they wont believe it. They have forgotten. And its kinda spooky to me to be honest. I tend to think y'all over there tend to be more on guard for bullshit creeping into your public consciousness. I recall when the Daily show was America's most trusted news source.

I hope we survive the punchline.
My point was actually not so much that the US sucks (that would be cruel, selfrighteous and simplistic) but that there are feasable alternatives.

The same is true when I keep saying how over here every neighborhood has a poll station that's usually within walking distance, elections are on sundays so most people can go freely, voting by mail is no problem, everybody who moves to a community is automatically registered there as a voter and voter ID is a non-issue because every citizen has a credit card sized national ID card that most carry in their wallet at all time anyway and results are usually universally accepted as a fact of life... It's not to boast because, frankly, all of this is quite normal and taken for granted in most developed countries, but to show that there is a way out.

The sad part is that this isn't even the trademark of the most developed countries anymore. At this point even the medium rank countries are getting like this and are starting to bypassing USA in various ways little by little. Which is completely paralyzed by it's internal status quo. I am from one of those countries and just about everything suggests that my quality of life would drop by moving to USA (unless I manage to get some truly super duper job, but I can potentially get that here as well). However what US wouldn't give me is free healthcare in the time of need, a chance to roam big city at 2 AM that isn't risky, GMO ban, etc. etc. Therefore at this rate good chunks of USA are becoming what is today third world in the terms of statistics. Sad but true.

I meant "most developed countries" in the sense of "the majority of developed countries". Otherwise I would have said "in THE most developed countries" ;)

Dennis Praeger is thinking about your penis.
Dennis Prager is thinking about everyone's penis. Who has one, who doesn't, who doesn't have one but should (in his opinion), who has one and shouldn't... the right in general, is absolutely obsessed with everyone else's genitals.

The horny horny right. Monetizing sexual repression since 1620. I tend to think the american past time isnt baseball as much as its pretending to not like sex despite being obsessed with it.

I mean, the fact that Covenant Eyes exists is proof enough that the Christian right is irredeemable and also love being told what to do.
