And this is another interesting take on how functional multiparty political system works.
In other words the only way to get to the 50% of the seats is through a coalition. Therefore you have to make compromises and combinations, what is often what is actually creating progress and it is bringing new ideas. Because in such system genuine status quo isn't possible. After all if you don't present much you risk getting 0 seats. What is because different parties or new parties can take all of your seats (if you are now careful with what you are doing). Plus if you have so many options to vote for you actually kinda need to scroll through what everyone is actually offering. However since you have to inform yourself better the parties have to write programs and ideas in more detail. What overall makes the politics more serious and goal oriented .... what is evidently good.

First it was only in elementary school. Then it was Middle school. Now it's through high school.
They dont care about parent's rights. They don't care about young people's well being. They care about maintaining and acquiring power....Its just a matter of time before they dont allow lgbtqia to exist in public at all -_-

I'm curious when the majority of the country is going to realize that the GOP is waging an all out war on American women, children, elderly, LGBTQIA+ and disabled. I don't know what more they need to do to convince people that if you are not white (but POC that tow the line are also acceptable), male and straight, the GOP in it's current form, would very much like you to lay down and die. If not, they'll continue to saturate the country with firearms to take care of it for you.

The woman they elected to chair the MI GOP ran for Secretary of State in 2022. She is insane. Which is why the GOP chose her. She is also a perfect example of POC that tow the GOP line. I know a lot of black folks that have personal conservative views, are very religious and so on. They don't vote for a party full of white supremacists and crazy people tho.

It is almost funny how countries can have totally different approach in it's right wing politics. Meanwhile my right wing government from across the Atlantic is going in some other directions. In short they just passed the law that claims that the stores have to be closed on Sundays. What is because the Sunday should be the day for the family, for resting, for the Church time, for friends .... etc. However this can't happen if people work or wonder around shops and malls on that day. Therefore this law is made in order to restore family time and perks/stability it brings. People still have other 6 days in the week to buy what they need. Plus there will be large bill that should repair/upgrade schools and there should be more money for children with problems in development. The public debt is falling for years at this point and there is room for all of this, since financial planning was decent. Also the party is making extra effort to reduce cancer death rates and there is already program that is designed to reduce cancer mortality. In other words the model is that through socialized healthcare they send you a mail with date when you can get free cancer test. Which is generally free but the system wants to remind or attract people to come in larger numbers. Because the cancer is much more curable when you discover it in early stages. So it really makes sense that you do preventive testing before things get out of hand. What then lowers the deaths rates out of cancer.

I mean I am posting this simply as a reference point and what in my book is politics that can actually claim that it protects family values and stability. If I have to bet I would say that they will probably get the 3rd term in a row.

It's utterly maddening. The lengths Im having to go with my own parents, and friends Ive known my whole life is disheartening and disillusioning as all fuck. I've never in my life felt so alone and yet surrounded, and I was in the closet in the damned military. The crippling executive dysfunction certainly doesnt help knowing where to get started in potentially having to gtfo in a hurry having lived a life of general isolation. Hopefully my therapist can help with that. I keep trying to reassure myself that things wont get as bad as i fear, but things keep getting worse, and I hate to say it but living where I live, I feel like Im living out one of those seventies sci fi horror movies but right now its edited for network television, but historically I see the way the wind is blowing and...I am not optimistic, but Im also trying not to be paralyzed with fear or dispair.

What is the public discourse about post-vac like where you live? Here in Germany covid-related post-vac is a thing in the media and many people talk about how nobody talks about it. Now the government has announced help and is still criticized for not doing enough.

The thing is - there is no proven causal relationship between these people getting will (mostly vague symptoms like fatigue that could have many causes) and covid vaccinations. What is more, if you look at expected vs real incidence there are no more of these incidents than would have happened anyway (long year average). And the final kicker is that while Germany only makes up for 15% of the EU population, some 55% of all self-reported post-vac cases come from Germany (which used the same vaccines as everybody else). So everything points towards this being unrelated to the actual vaccines and more of a psychological/cultural phenomenon. Don't get me wrong, the pain is definitely real and these people are seriously suffering, but the cause does not appear to be what they think it is.

However, that is an extremely unpopular and socially unacceptable thing to say in this country. There is a lot of pressure in the media to "believe the victims" and not the scientists.

You guys are still debating this ? For me there is no public discourse on this since COVID is not longer public/TV topic and no one cares about it. Even the anti-vax people gave up on the subject. Therefore life goes on and there are far more serious problems to point out (inflation, many new laws, infrastructure talk, Ukraine ... etc)

I rarely hear it talked about here in Maryland, USA.

When I go to the pharmacy, the screen will ask me if I want free COVID tests supplied by the government. It's still not uncommon to see about 25% of the folks in public areas like stores and groceries wearing masks, and I am typically one of them, but no one makes a big deal about it anymore and no one cares EITHER way -- no one seems to be demanding everyone wear masks and no one seems to be belittling people for wearing them either. My government agency still makes you wear a mask if you enter the HQ building, but we are on full-time telework and so it doesn't really impact anyone; otherwise the agency no longer asks for documentation that you've had your shots.

Basically COVID doesn't exist, despite of course for the fact that it definitely still exists. I've known people within the last 4-6 months who got COVID or a new variation, including coworkers and one of my kids, but literally it's just something you take care of on your own (mask-wearing as personal responsibility, or quarantining if you get it, etc.) and no one on social media or the news seems to be discussing much if at all. I don't really hear the death tallies discussed much at all either.

Same here. I mean, the last vestiges of COVID - like plexiglass barriers and masking are pretty much gone except for hospitals and doctors offices and many that work with the public still wear them. When we came back from the Keys, before Christmas we all tested positive, I let my doctors office know and they prescribed Paxlovid immediately. But we never took it, we did not feel that bad. Save it for people that really need it but it's a very on your own type thing. We've been ready for this to happen so we had a lot of stuff stocked at home. But that flight back from FL sucked - my ears and throat hurt terribly.
