I keep hearing about antifa. It seems to be a leaderless decentralized group of anti-fascist and anti-racist people who use a weird looking flag.

Considering that this flag never shows up but people point to antifa always showing up and that without the flag, it's just a group of anti-fascist and anti-raicist people.

So, if you are anti-antifa, what does removing the double negative make you?

Corpo Media in US for the most part likes to smear antifa because the narrative here values property over people, and the alt right likes to paint antifa as the "real" fascists. (on account of it apparently super fash to tell rednecks that being authoritarian is bad.) And Centrists don't like being reminded that things arent just academic debates. What a world, what a world, we're melting we're all melting...

You might see the Three Arrows flag which originated in Germany during the 1932 election. This represents opposition towards Nazism, Marxism-Leninism and reactionary conservatism. It's used in other countries outside of Germany but in the US, it's used by antifa in opposition to authoritarianism, fascism and authoritarian socialism.

This is an excellent article about what the anti-fascists were doing in Charlottsville in 2017. Particularly the churches and clergy they were protecting.

My entire life I felt that the default setting for most people was a anti-fascist position, considering we fought a world war to rid the world of this ideology. Apparently not. I would assume anti-antifa would mean one embraces fascism.

Oh, also, concerning the flag:

Its meaning has changed over the decades, but people actually do use it here in Europe. My little brother sometimes wears an antifa sticker. I think to him it just means that he morally opposes fascism and racism, which shouldn't be a controversial stance. It's like saying "I'm against cancer" or "I like flowers, puppies and sunshine".
Exactly. But the media in the US has completely warped something that should be an obvious position like - murdering a person walking down the street is bad or stealing money from old people is bad - into yet another BOTH SIDES ARE EQUALLY BAD thing. And they know people will never take the time to do a 30 second Google search on the term antifa.

One really does wonder when this bullshit became the default?

Love the three arrows flag. And I'll echo the "what does it makes you if you are anti-antifa" sentiment.

It's just bizarre to watch a bunch of bozos doing victory marches around "proof" that the government "ordered" Twitter to suppress certain stories, evidently hoping no one would point out that only the GOP involved were government per se during the time in question.

Does Musk maybe have early onset dementia? Or is there maybe some strategy behind it? (I realize it does effectively stir up chaos that makes people cling harder to their own tribes, but the respect from people with IQs >85 is gone forever - what exactly is gained here that's worth that?) This spate of easily preventable and yet over-the-top hard fuck-ups is just wild.

MAGA wants to get rid of the constitution. When people tell you who they are believe them.

Giving him the benefit of a doubt, he's a guy who lives in total denial.

However, I can't believe he's so stupid as to not recognize that Trump is the antithesis of his own religious values, so I have to assume for whatever reason (political connivance or some absurd extremity of loyalty spawning from his religion devotion) he's aware of the truth but just spews lies and somehow manages to justify it in some bizarre manner.

he's vile; the irony is that it's coming from the other end, versus people who are just openly vile and deceitful. He manages to dress up nicely. I'm sure if he was running for President, my mother would be vote for him because he "looks and talks" the right way.

More of this stupidity.

I'd love to hear a journalist ask him if he is aware that Trump wanted him dead and said so. The only reason for anyone to act this obtuse in an interview is $$
Hell I would die of surprise if a journalist dared called him Michael, so he knows they mean business.

I'm going to guess any interviewer has to agree to certain terms before that packet of cheap, expired mayonnaise is willing to participate, but yeah. Would have been amazing to play several witness testimonies about that and ask his opinion.

It's disappointing that the vast number of journalists have been little more than press secretaries for the past several years, but it's kinda surprising that no talent - the kind of journalist who can suss out challenging questions and won't take smoke and mirrors for an answer - has surfaced among it. If I were in that field, I think I'd constantly be posting "what would you ask?" questions on social media.
