Betting markets seem to favor Kelly. That would be my first pick although I have a feeling she’s going to choose Buttigieg or Shapiro. Less likely scenario but a bold choice would be to choose Witmer and have an all female ticket.

Basically the whole party endorsed Harris and therefore this is a done deal. In other words now the party should start with actual campaigning and they have to find VP sooner rather than later. There is no time for looking back.
There’s a handful of people daydreaming about the Dems picking Hillary but it’s never going to happen. They need to get in touch with reality.

Also Kamala has more charisma than Hillary and I think she has the temperament to weather the right wing attack tactics better than most other potential candidates.

Marianne Williamson needs to go away. I don’t know why she’s even bothering to try.

It probably wouldn't be Kelly since that would leave senate seat open. The seat for which it is unclear that another democrat can win it. In other words this can very easily cost dems the senate, where things are very close to 50:50 zone in projections.

Also black woman + gay man could prove to be too much. Two women are also kinda in that territory.

While Shapiro would almost surely bring Pennsylvania that is the most important state. Since neither side has clear path without it.

Cooper of North Carolina is kinda too old and that state probably wouldn't flip anyway.

While many are pushing Kentucky governor as first choice. Since he knows how to talk to rural voters and he governs in red state. Therefore if he can make inroads here that is basically it. Many states will go blue.

So Shapiro from Pennsylvania or Beshear from Kentucky are probably top two choices.

My favorites are Buttigieg and Kelly, but of course I’ll back whoever Kamala picks.

I’m glad Kamala may be making inroads with men. She’s already got my support.

That said, if she (and democrats as a whole) really want to win the male bloc, and keep them in 2028 and beyond, there are legitimate issue democrats need to address and make part of their platform beyond the typical lip service:

-family court reform. A push for father’s rights. Mandatory paternity tests for all newborn babies.
-the boy crisis in education/young mens’ failure to launch. A White House office for boys and men would be a start.
-reframing of how men are viewed by default as aggressors of women, when in reality those aggressors form a small minority of all men. Yes, most women have experienced some form or harassment or abuse by men, but it’s usually repeat offenders and a small slice of men that are responsible, not the gender as a whole.
-the incel crisis. It’s a lot bigger than people realize and far more people fall into this category, beyond the ones actively involved in internet groups and forums. Many are just giving up and being content to live alone or in their parents’ basements. One area the right is correct is that families are a cornerstone of a healthy civilization. i just disagree with them that this is limited to the traditional idea of family, ie only ones with hetero parents, and would expand that to include all types of families. A nation of millions of de facto incels is not healthy for the family or for a sustainable society and should be taken as a harbinger of imminent collapse
-full support for a ban on all forms of non consensual genital mutilation.

Pundits endlessly debate how democrats can connect with and get more male votes but it’s rare I hear any of the above issues mentioned in depth, if at all. For instance, I just listened to an NPR segment regarding Kamala’s attempt to connect with more male voters, and you would think it was some grand mystery the way they pondered how exactly democrats could do better with male voters. It’s really not rocket science, just start by adding father’s rights and family court reform to the platform and that alone would win a lot of support. This is a demographic that has felt abandoned by that party and it’s no surprise so many otherwise liberal men have drifted to the right in the last decade or two.

For the record, I am not suggesting they change now that everybody has rallied around the Harris flag. I just wish they had paused for a few weeks to consider alternatives and possibly have an open convention. I think they could have really got Trump behind the eight ball with a centrist who would appeal to swing voters. I'm uncertain Harris has that appeal. She may be able to move to the center and we'll see if the public buy it. Trump fear may also yet carry the day for her.

In any event, it's Harris now, so the Dems will sink or swim with her at the top of the ticket.
lol They did pause for a few weeks to consider alternatives and discussed it. You weren't invited to that conversation. I also don't understand people angry that Obama didn't share his involvement with them. I wouldn't give the GOP or MSM that kind of advantages.

I wouldn't discount JD Vance. Every time that freak opens his mouth is very obvious that he 1) has very little political experience. and 2) he can't seem to stop saying the very worst right wing culture war idiocy and normal voters just don't want to hear it. I would put those two things above even Trump fear at this point and after this, regular voters who had no idea what a Catholic natalist is - will know exactly what that is.

I don't hate the guy liner though. However given what the eyes are windows to, I'm not really sure what the strategy of trying to draw attention to them is for him... That house is hainted.

I would have liked to have been in that room in 2020. That would have been interesting.

lol I think he should do much more makeup but, given Trump's hatred of facial hair (since I'm pretty sure he can't grow any) I wonder what the over under is on him forcing JD to shave and show everyone that rather effeminate chin.
