Lots of people here think being really rich means you're really smart. There are also those who conflate being smart with being an entrepreneur.

Actually this is something that people think all over the world. Since it is kinda logical at face value.

Also I would dare to say that in US you don't have that many paths if you are of high intelligence (unless if you want to waste that talent). The system is very market based and thus going in entrepreneur direction makes sense for most.

I'm probably pretty dumb because I decided to do anything but that. (And a few other things which I winded up doing anyway.) I tried being "my own boss" for a little bit last year and I hated it.

Anyway, I'm annoyed when people act as though someone like Steve Jobs "invented" Apple computers.

I mean here we are coming into the zone of "multiple versions of intelligence". Since everyone has it's mental strengths and weaknesses.

True, "Jobs" is more of a brand and salesmanship than anything else.

I know what I said about posting polls but this one is truly a turning point.
Harris takes the lead in the national polling average on 270 to win. It is clearly visible that the top of the column is blue and bottom is red.

National 2024 Presidential Election Polls
Now that one is interesting to me, if for no other reason than you usually dont see this much blue at this time. Guess a lot of the old timers got their dander up at the whole project 2025 thing.

The equation is probably pretty simple. Harris can bring out many people who were just "meh" when it come to Biden.

In other words even she can technically be a grandma to the youngest voters, what clearly shows how much Biden was just too old (he can be her dad when it comes to years). Also the dude was alive when Hitler and Stalin were rocking the world through WW2. While 3 Biden's lifetimes in a row would be about as old as USA. I really don't hate the guy and I even owe him for some things. But we have to be objective here: he simply got too old for this.

Which is basically why Trump will probably lose. Since he is now older than Biden was in 2020. In other words it is 2024 and that means that everyone bellow 42 is either a Gen Y or Gen Z. Therefore if you manage to grab into that pool you will win. As they say "Demographics is just another word for destiny".

I saw Kamala Harris on TV speaking about Joe Biden's resignation and I liked how she stayed loyal as well as vowed to continue in his footsteps regarding certain things associated with policies but I didn't hear her speak concretely about what policies she'll be supporting thus far.

It says on Wikipedia she used to make reproductive care (pro-choice) rights the lodestone to her political campaign but I don't know how that might change into a different central point.

I think Kamala Harris should discuss trade agreements and make that the pivotal point between her and Trump.

I wouldn't call reproductive rights a lodestone for Harris. That gives it too much emphasis relative to other issues that concern her. It has, however, been something she has consistently supported, along with LGBTQ rights, health care access/affordability, environmental protection, consumer rights, and corporate accountability.

Arizona could become the blueprint for Democrats looking to build state power
Democrats are alert to the problem of “down-ballot roll off,” where voters go to the polls mainly to weigh in on high-profile national races but lose interest in local ones and simply stop completing their ballots. This phenomenon is more common among Democrats: 80 percent of Democrats fail to completely fill out their ballot, compared with 32 percent for Republicans, according to research from progressive group Sister District.

That actually explains certain results.

I think it's a good thing Kamala Harris takes more private donations and supports a single paying health insurance which seems more leftist to me.

Today it probably is. Many don't seems aware though that the modern wellfare state was first introduced by arch-conservative Otto von Bismarck in the 1880s to keep workers from rioting or turning into socialists.
The British NHS might have been introduced by a Labour government but until Maggie Thatcher there was a post-war consensus in the UK on these things.

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group of course that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few other Texas oil millionaires and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

Tim Walz calls Viktor Orbán a dictator. For JD Vance, he’s a role model.

This kinda random piece is actually pretty good example of what I was saying. Today you don't really have national elections and inside and outside is pretty blurred due to modern global dynamic and the internet. Therefore across the map politicians are actively helping one another to win elections through ideas, influence, trade etc. What means that the actual game is what I called "global college". What means that the whole world is basically one giant game of electoral college between autocracy and democracy, while countries are states. What would mean that the US as a whole is basically the California of the world and without it the democratic world has problems with volume. Which is exactly why some global players are trying to make it as messy as possible.

In other words this is that 4D chess some were mentioning over the years.
