I would absolutely listen to your podcast over that goober Nate Silver any day. I don't care if you are doing pizza hot takes or politics.

Are there any American pizza chains in Croatia? Maybe in Zagreb or one of the bigger cities.

I don't listen to his podcast, but I consider 538 a better source than the selective reports of a "single poll" that you tend to get from other news outlets, which is extremely misleading. I like that it aggregates polls. I suppose if you don't place any stock in polls at all, one wouldn't care for it.

I also like that they go through all possible scenarios instead of dismissing them outright. They also were less off in 2016 than a lot of other outlets like MSNBC.

I agree with the analytics but I have tried the 538 podcast. No thank you. I'm better sticking to CTH and the Trillbillies.

Oh, I see. Yeah, I don't listen to those.

I know CTH is awesome. I'll have to try Trillbillies... I'm guessing it has more of a rural focus than CTH?

Well, an eastern Kentucky focus. Just check their free episodes on Soundcloud.

I think maybe a lot of them feel they've talked mbti to death by the time we both arrived and perhaps they feel this is a more useful bearing of their time. I do wish I could see more discussions outside of politics too though.

Its not like most people talk bout MBTI anymore, which I find weird. Im more or less talking about getting to know each other via simple conversation and sharing of lifestyles.

I really wish you guys would post more outside of the political section.

Whenever I try post typology related threads, they get nowhere near the same level of traffic and replies as threads in the political sub forum, so I give up and drop in here where all of the action is. But most of my posts in the last several months have probably been in the arts and entertainment sub forum. You’re always welcome to contribute there too but I don’t see you outside of this section much.

The politics sub forum will die down in another couple of months. Most people tend to take breaks from talking politics in the wake of elections.

I need to pull myself out of fluff threads but I doubt my intellectual thoughts so much I convince myself fluff is my safe place to exist without facing someone insulting my already extremely fragile self esteem woops.

actually in hindsight politics has kind of been a poorly chosen social experiment for me considering this place is always usually hostile and most of the users in here terrified me because I assumed

*says something wrong*

*immediate pitchforks and loss of respect from everyone and anyone*

*cries in fetal position*

that has not happened. Perhaps I will eventually elevate myself even MORE places. haha.
I realize it is also sad to admit I was scared to be in this subforum XD I don't feel intelligent enough...

I kind of feel that way too sometimes and will avoid sharing my thoughts out of fear of them seeming too "basic" or obvious to others.

Well, I was actually thinking about starting a podcast of some type but here that can't really be more than a pet project. Since here there is no culture of podcasts and we are generally less of a online society. Here it is more normal to drink a cup of coffee or whatever with your friends on a terrace for 2 hours than hang out in a chat room for that long.

However someone in the media industry indeed needs to get fired over these results. Results even aren't that fa from the margins of error but they are pretty far from interpretation of the data and general media narratives. Because as it looks this will barely be a blue victory in end (instead of a landslide). What is evidently a mistake if you repeat your stuff over and over again through weeks and weeks. I understand the mistake here where you have 20 parties in the parliament and therefore it is hard to be fully precise. But when you have 2 parties and well defined regions you should have grasped better where the things are going. Since this victory if it happens will be in "the margin of luck". If anything they should have simply expanded the margin of error in this kind of uncertain mess. "I don't know" is still kinda ok answer in this sport. However the main show is over now and it is time that I clear my head from American politics and return back to my life which evidently needs attention. I will probably visit often but I can't be here for a few hours a day and spend a few more thinking about stuff I read here. Which are completely out of my control now that the vote is over.

See you. :)

Being on a podcast is fun, I was in one with a Democrat from North Carolina like 4 years ago. His name was Joe Parrish. But I wasn't as politically inclined as I am now.

I understand why LGBT folks probably think pretty well of Obama.

As for me, though... he was elected the year I graduated from college. Those were pretty rough times and I felt like he had a tendency to go to bat for and defend the interests of Wall Street and financial sector types (as well as other big business interests) while ignoring those of lots of other people. He also did nothing to rollback the national security state (which Trump gained control of... look at what he's done with Border Patrol) created by the past administration and even went after folks that were whistleblowers on its abuses (couldn't he have pardoned them)?

Objectively speaking, I will concede he may have been the best President during my life time, but I'm not sure that's a particularly high bar to clear.

Madison reasoned that longer terms would provide stability.

Stability? Try stagnation. The Mitch McConnells of the world shouldn't even be allowed to exist in the Senate for 10 years, much less 30.

Yeah I'm starting to think that we're going into 4 year cycles. I believe we need to to rectify the division in this country.

How did Biden accomplish more votes than Obama in 2012?
