This primary is crazy! The town I live in has a population of around 55K. It is a union town and a sort of Democratic outpost in Republican Indiana. Not a big deal except in local politics which do sometimes get screwy.

We really aren't on the map nationally. I don't remember a presidential candidate ever visiting here. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened, but it doesn't happen a lot.

This year is different, though. A week or two ago Hilary was here. Chelsea was here earlier this week. Bill is going to be in a little town in the county north of us Friday and Obama is going to be here Friday night.

I might just go and hear Obama. I like him the best so far.

I think wikipedia had a bit on the 2008 election having Indiana as a possible swing state, so it may be that someone out there is thinking it enough to have candidates treat it as such.

That's probably not a bad idea. McCain isn't making the right noises to win the religious right voters and Indiana is hurting as bad as anyplace else economically.

I won't be the only Evangelical who is voting for a Democratic presidential candidate for the first time this year.

And yes. I'm confessing to having voted for Bush.

I'm truly sorry, everyone.

The paper said tickets would be available from 9AM-9PM, so took the kids to school, puttered around the house for a little while, and got there a bit after 9:30.

There was a huge line. Apparently people started getting there at 5AM! Some of the campaign workers even came to our part of the line to tell us they weren't certain there would be tickets left by the time we got to the front. I decided to take my chances and wait.

Two hours later, I was the relieved owner of two tickets to hear Senator Barack Obama. :D My friend that lives about an hour away is going to come, so I got her a ticket.
