I'm going to go with my husband to Buffalo in a couple weeks. This city is on my list so I'm looking forward to it - there are two Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Buffalo I want to tour.

I haven't been to Buffalo, but have you seen any of the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in Chicago. Have you seen any of them? He also wanted to build a mile-high skyscraper here with 365 floors. It sounds completely crazy the more I read about it.

I also went to see Falling Water once, and I thought that was so cool.

I need to make the next batch of my list.

I have been to the Unity Temple, his Home and Studio tour (inside and outside), the Fredrick Robie house. I've toured the the Meyer May house in Grand Rapids and the Affleck house in Bloomfield Hills. I think those are the only two the public can see in Michigan. Falling Water is on my list - it looks so amazing.

I haven't seen the Unity Temple (I don't think) but I know the home and studio. Definitely go see Fallingwater. I also remember when I went, in the surrounding area, the clouds of mist were rising up from the rivers and streams and it almost looked mystical. The day was gray and a little rainy. It's a beautiful area, from what I remember.

I have to figure out the next batch. I think Chicago is going higher than I initially planned.

So the Buffalo trip is going to have to wait until the spring (sad but I have to go when my husband goes for work). We are taking a little trip in a couple weeks. Duluth via the UP. We've been to Duluth but we always fly into Minneapolis and drive up with our daughter and her SO. I've never been to the Soo (but I've been to the UP several times) so I'll report back. This might be the last trip for the year as we don't get vacation time off between September and the election.

That sounds great. I've never been there. I'd like to visit Holland because I thought it would be cool and one of my favorite beers (Dragon's Milk Stout) is brewed there. I can't consume it in the quantities I once could, but one bottle would probably be fine.

When I lived in Philadelphia, I took a Greyhound to NYC for the weekend a few times. That was not expensive. I'm assuming I could do the same thing for Detroit, although I haven't yet looked up the prices. I still feel like I haven't adjusted enough to my job yet, so I'm not sure when that would be.

I don't know where you are at exactly but if you can take the train, it's reasonable and much more enjoyable than the bus. It can drop you in Dearborn or Ann Arbor.

Dearborn and Ann Arbor sounds like a comedic paranormal crime procedural starring two elderly Scottish women that I would watch.
