I completely finished the game a few weeks ago. Even got all the star coins. (NEVER thought I'd ever beat 9-7; let alone get all the coins off of it). All it gives you for collecting the ones in World 9 is a fourth star in the "Select Game" screen. Getting all the star coins in 1-8 gave you three stars.

Now, I just play random levels for fun.

If you only got 4 stars you've made a mistake along the line, 5 is the max. Also when you get all the star coins you get unlimited mushroom houses...

No, when I got the last one, it said I had all the coins in the game. And this is the same as can be seen on YouTube. If there was anything else, you would see it on there.

This game is the fucking baddest. It's as if it's everything Miyamoto ever wanted to do with Super Mario Bros. but couldn't because of technological limitations.

The music and the visuals are trippy as hell and the gameplay is so incredibly intuitive and fun it borders on addicting.

I'm telling you once you get all the coins, all of the mushroom houses in the game become unlimited, meaning you can go back and visit them as many times as you like and they never go away.

I have 5 stars. I don't care what youtube says, I trust what's on my tv screen.
