Zazu

Zazu is exacting, regimented, and good at executing orders and plans. He is committed, responsible, and dedicated to handling his duties with care. Zazu is devoted to order and expects not just himself, but also the people around him, to follow the rules. As envoy and advisor to the king, he reminded young Simba and Nala to be obedient and behave as was expected of them. Zazu’s orderliness and commitment to propriety can sometimes make him seem strict in the eyes of more playful natures. On the other hand, he is an excellent organizer and is always mindful of the responsibilities and duties that need to be fulfilled. Zazu is also capable of handling difficult situations with tact and poise. Because of his conscientious outlook on life, he is able to convey difficult points and insights to them in the service of everyone around him and the community as a whole.

Rafiki
As the king’s most trusted adviser and wise medicine man of the kingdom, Rafiki is mentor and ally to both Mufasa and Simba. Though the guardian of the kingdom’s accumulated wisdom and rites, Rafiki is a highly unorthodox teacher who makes use of metaphor, allegory, and “crazy wisdom” to encourage those under his tutelage to figure things out for themselves (as opposed to his merely telling them what to do). When Simba was at his lowest, it was Rafiki who encouraged him to look deeper into the scrying pool to realize that Mufasa lived on in him and that, indeed, we are all connected in a greater circle of life. Insightful and creative, Rafiki hides his knowledge behind eccentricities; his awakened state of mind allows him to convey difficult truths and even to tease, insult, and whack the future king across the head with his staff. Rafiki is allowed to do this because others know that he is challenging them to make new discoveries for themselves; urging them on to be the best versions of themselves that they can be.
