Season 1 Episode 9
Into the Woods
Deep into that Darkness peering. Long I stood there. Wondering, fearing, doubting...What sinister secrets lurk deeper into the woods?

The tent scene is a master class in practical effects being the superior default choice. A great episode to take stock of where all the characters are free to react and adjust to all the fast past chaos of the last several episodes. The audience too has been on the ropes as the excellence of this show continues to give solid hit after solid hit. The dominoes have started to fall now at the end though, and everyone is going to be sorry they didnt appreciate the joy of this peaceful lull before its all gone...

Season 1: Episode 10
Finale
Oh the places we'll go.
You're not in Kansas anymore Kiddos. The people of Nowhere know this in their hearts. But their minds still cling to the realities prescribed to the world they were stolen from. Which by now they should have begun to grasp, that if they were stolen from there world into another. There are laws in place that allow such things to facilitate themselves. One thing we can be sure of. Where there is a host of darkness...There is also a Shining Host of light. But to assume your place among them...is a sin. Let us pray.

Well here we are folks. We're at the end of season one. There were lots of scares, jumps, moods, and tragedy. But you know what? A lot of smiling faces through out. I have no complaints apart from a ten episode season is never gonna be as good as a 20 episode season, but im willing to bend on that so I dont break. I learn lessons. Will the People of Nowhere learn and repent before its too late? Will they rise to freedom in a land of milk and honey, or will they be dragged screaming and bloody by things which held dominion over the surface world while humans were still hiding in holes in the dark of the night...before Promethius sinned against the god and stole fire from heaven and brought the light of knowledge and community to the livestock.

If your a fan of horror, if youre a fan of mysteries, if your a crazy folklore and mythology obessed lunatic like me, this show has what you've been looking for a long time. The writing is gush worthy, the acting is stellar and the over all effect is a story that keeps on giving and points to show runners who not only respect their audience, but want to put in the work to make sure they have a good time. Cant wait to see what season 2 has in store. And so ends my season one sermon. Amen.

I've been pleased with From season 3 so far. Episode 1 got off to a cracking start and ep 2 was good at pulling on the ol' heart strings.

My main hope is that From stays away from the Lost mistake of piling mystery on top of mystery and never really resolving anything. From needs to keep a lid on things and if they want to add new phenomenon they should explain/wrap up some of the old ones.

From has done a pretty good job of answering all the questions thus far with a wink and a nod to Lost. They have been consistent with their clues. They've revealed mysteries in the early episode with set detail, and through idle conversations. Done well enough that the audience can choose to be mystified along with the town, or trying to solve the mystery with some of the specific characters. The audience is represented with the towns people and colony house and bus passengers, so there is the metaphorical connection between the showrunners and the audience. Which is nice these days. This show is even great when you realize what's going on, there is still mystery and horror to be found. I got a real kick out of the characters in episode two of season one asking each other, what if we're dead the whole time? So that even if and knowing a thing or two about the folklore theyre using for this story, nobody can say it came out of nowhere. The Smiling Ones
Its been an all around great series, compelling story, and fantastic premise for a chronicles of darkness mortal setting.

I think it's a crime that this show was never released to Region 1 on hard media.

There's an Asian version of it on DvD / BluRay (a different Region), but why have they never released it here?

If you want to watch it, you need to either get MgM subscription or purchase the full season on a streamer -- which means you don't get the assurance of practical media in case they decide to screw you over later.
