I went to the University to pick up some unofficial transcripts yesterday. As I was walking to the registrar, I peaked by the University career center to say hello to a friend I haven’t seen in a while. He is an INTJ type 4, and he informed me how bored out of his mind he was today. I decided to hang out with him till his shift was over and we started to talk until the conversation eventually made it down to personality. As it turns out, the center is jam packed with thousands of dollars of professional personality assessment tests. I told him about this place and that at the current moment I was an ENxP type 7w3. He laughed at me as if I had said the most absurd thing ever and then he asked me who the heck convinced you that you were an ENFP (Impossible he smirked). He told me that over the last 8 years that he had known me; he was convinced that I was an ENTP and only recently have I really started to excel at and develop Fe. I have noticed this earlier but was not sure about it and Beyondaurora has helped me with this also.
Anyway, we decide to use the resources we have to their fullest extent. We begin taking three MBTI tests and three Enneagram tests and all the results came out identical with me being an ENTP with a type 2 enneagram.
I find that so interesting as finally things really start to make sense. As a type 2 I understand why I am not the stereotypical ENTP jerk. I think it mainly relates to the fact that my parents were ESTJ father and ISFJ mother that made me believe that service of others is the only thing that is honorable in life. I used to think that all my self service was altruistic but now I am starting to realize that I am so nice and giving to others because I deep down inside want someone to love me back as much as I love others. After really realizing this, it first gave me a crash of depression but now I am just taking it realistically and starting to understand my needs.
