Ukraine official slaps Russian delegate at Black Sea nations assembly

Valery Stavitsky, the secretary of Russia’s delegation, snatched a Ukrainian flag out of the hands of a Ukrainian member of parliament, Oleksandr Marikovski, while the latter was taking a selfie in the corridors of the building where the meeting took place.

Marikovski then chased the Russian official and slapped him in the face, making his glasses fall — but winning back the flag.

Kinda the whole point of this war in short.

EPP demands Ukraine join NATO — eventually

EPP are the real rulers of EU. Therefore if they demand this then the request has some weight. After all "the standard model" is that you first join NATO and then EU. Since NATO membership means that you become geographically and politically stable. Therefore after that you are ready for much deeper EU integrations.

It would be kinda funny that the main counter attack would start with punching through captured parts of Bakhmut.

EU’s Mariya Gabriel nominated to be Bulgaria’s new prime minister

After 5 elections in year and a half it is indeed time to find some kind of a compromise solution. After all while there is clear lack of governing the problems can't be solved and the leadership falls to Russia friendly president. In other words center-right EPP should pick up Bulgaria. Especially since the ruling coalition should have multiple EPP parties in it. It think it will be 2 EPP parties and one green.

Yes, but what is perhaps more important and it has gone under the radar is the fact that Russia due to it's size on normal years has local and regional celebrations on victory day. While this year this was supposedly completely removed from the schedule. So if this is true that is quite telling sign that money and military hardware are totally in short supply. So the better question is perhaps "Where are other parades?".

Just as I said, after a few months when it become obvious that they got stuck in Ukraine they should have just pulled out. While for the comment they could have said "What? That was just special military operation, not a war!". But no, the Soviet doctrine doesn't allow even that kind of flexibility and everything has to be "all in", even if there is no real plan B.

The need for European ‘strategic reconciliation’

Some people are afraid that the fourth Reich will happen due to this but the fact is that stronger security force is simply needed in the modern unstable world. It is true that the hundreds of billions are being spend in what is basically already the world's 3rd largest military budget but still more is needed to smooth things out. Especially since coordination and industrial base are simply lacking when you consider the GDP in tens of trillions. The key question is indeed if USA has the will and the resources to keep helping. After all EU has 130% of US population. Plus when you add the satellite states like UK, Ukraine, Turkey ..... the number is going over 200% of US population (plus public debts percent wise are visibly smaller than in US). So there is no real need that European security architecture is really dependent on anyone. Therefore as I said there is this fear of the fourth Reich but things as they are now aren't truly stable. The system has to be able to stand on it's own feet.
