Towards DW Erdogan leads 49.24% towards 45.04%.
While 98.24% of the vote is counted.

The only real question here is can he have enough to skip the second round. What happens if he has more than 50%.

The counted vote got risen to 99.21% while score didn't really change. So now it will be quite hard that he will reach 50%.
If numbers are correct we are going into the second round in two weeks.

Spoiler: In a later episode, they end up fighting for Ukraine.
Coming closer to fighting for Ukraine each day...

In exchange for Ukrainians pulling back from the front lines of battle in Bakhmut, where Wagner mercenaries have faced heavy losses that Prigozhin blames on Putin's lack of support and supplies, Prigozhin would reveal the locations of Russian troops and stand by as Ukraine attacked.
The document does not specify which Russian troop positions Prigozhin offered to reveal, WaPo reported, and US officials similarly cast doubt on the Wagner leader's intentions. Still, multiple high-level Russian military commanders have been killed near Bakhmut in recent weeks.

Turkey election: Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu set for runoff

But I don't this is going to work for the opposition. Erdogan has a lead and the votes of the third guy will probably go to him more (the third guy is a right-winger) .
Plus Erdogan got the parliament and thus voting for the opposition candidate would only short circuit the country. We will see but I think this is basically a done deal.

The conflict cannot end until Ukraine is part of the West

Nigel Farage: ‘Brexit has failed’

Current Reform U.K. leader Richard Tice said the party would stand against every Tory MP at the next election, as it looks to squeeze the Conservatives’ vote from the right.

This changes just about everything in UK. Especially since the far right could actually win.
For those that don't remember: in elections for EU parliament just before Brexit the Reform UK got 30 seats and Tories got 4 (while Labor got 10 and Lib Dem 17). In other words UK elections are unlike EU elections and thus they have "winner takes all" system regarding elections for seats. Therefore if another such vote would happen again on UK level that should give the Reform landslide victory. What in the end means that all of this could get very very "interesting". Since this basically signals the end of Tory-Labor dynamic that made UK politics for what it is.

I was kind of hoping this article would be about how (assuming Ukraine gets through this conflict) they could over time become as prosperous as South Korea. That's not the gist of the article, but I know Ukraine has become a lot less of a corrupt state than it used to be. I mean ousting the super corrupt Russian puppet regime (Maidan uprising) in 2014 was a great start, but the culture of political corruption was still well entrenched.

I believe since the Russian invasion has started, much more has been done to root out corrupt politicians. The whole culture of tolerance for corrupt officials may be changing. That could lead to a much stronger and more prosperous Ukraine down the road. Of course, everything could still go sideways, we'll just have to wait and see.

Of course that corruption is being hunted down. Since people doing it are often directly the fifth column or remains of some past times. This is almost as important as the actual frontlines. All around wider region there is currently hunt for corruption since that is important in order to seal off Russia. Because as soon as you have corruption Russia usually hooks up on that spot. While the genuine rule of law is natural antidote to those that want to solve everything with force, while they don't want to be accountable for anything.

As I said this is going around wider region and here is example:
The Cap versus The Pumpkin: Bulgaria’s mafia state reaches breaking point

So I really hope that it brakes down completely. We really don't need "this" at the table in western institutions.
