I have seen people dismissed as "karens", though, when they are complaining about things that legitimately need to be fixed. People who are willing to speak up and be insistent, despite the pushback from those in charge, the disapproval of onlookers, and the hurdles often put in place to prevent it, often end up doing us all a favor by getting problems fixed and situations improved.
(Nevermind the negative affects of this term on people actually named Karen - like one of my cousins.)
Insistence on conflict (especially waged through subtle, indirect means, rather than openly) and throwing your weight around just for the sake of it. Oh, and the fact that some people don't like that doesn't necessarily mean they are weak or a pushover.
Idiocy and ignorance, on the other hand, I can usuallyforgivetolerate.
These false trauma accusations for attention, power, and money are getting me quite disgusted. It's mostly celebrities that I'm thinking about, although it's more personal to me because I've had people jerk my compassion around with lies and exaggerations throughout my life. Sometimes the person was geniunely sick, but sometimes it's harder to know. It's really awful because it places people who have actual trauma at greater risk of dismissal. It's when it becomes chic to take selfies with smeared mascara and it's obvious the person thinks they look so pretty. It's shit like Lana Del Rey's video "Pretty When You Cry (Rape)" video on youtube. I want to give these people something to actually cry about. Trauma is not a new fashion look. It's not a fresh approach to make up artistry. I need to find a way to decompress the rage they instill in me.
A lack of reason. Also the near-synonym, sts, of willful ignorance.
People who don't try to understand, comprehend, look within or just generally be a reasonable, rational person, drive me insane. It is repellent and I will quickly put distance between myself and them.
I regret if my post sounds too harsh for the grey area people. I was feeling more triggered by the blatant people who use it to destroy other people and get their money. There are grey area people who aren't well, but they mis-identify the suffering. Maybe they are mentally ill, but transfer it to being physically sick or traumatized. I have compassion for that. There are many people with deep identity disturbances beyond whatever attention-whoring they decide to "enact" online.
I'd rather be a high horse than on a high horse.
