A point about Greenland that seems to be absolutely lost on him is that Greenland is not uninhabited. There's people living there, you know, Greenlanders. They are mostly non-white, but people. And if they want to get away from Danmark at all it is to become a completely independent nation, not an American overseas territory.

Actually for decades there are tensions between Turkey and Greece (which are both in NATO). However in the case of war pretty much everyone would support the defender. What would probably be Greece, since it has something like 7 time less people than Turkey. The only real problem is would Europe be even willing to cross the Atlantic in order to attempt saving of Canada. Because the logistics would probably be terrible for the most part and Ukraine is somewhat more of a priority for European logistics.

However truth to be told if Trump would start a full scale war with Canada that would probably cause MASSIVE unrest in US. Especially if the war doesn't end on day 3 but it turns into a mess.

That depends on how you look at it. The place is multiple times the size of Texas, but none the less the population is only 56 000. What is technically "uninhabited" when you consider population density. Therefore these are small enough numbers that you can openly offer them some kind of good financial deal. You can offer everyone there a million dollars and that would still be like one more aid package for Ukraine.


But yes, the story is absurd.

Up to 3.5% of GDP is in the domain of being realistic expectation (in my book). While going above that level in next few years probably isn't realistic expectation. But the fact is that 2% target just isn't enough in the world we are currently living. Especially if some countries of the alliance fail to reach even that level.

Ok, so I sent a message to the mods quite some time ago asking why I couldn't find the Random Politics Thread under the directory like they used to. I can access it via New Posts if someone makes a post there, but otherwise I can't make posts there. I have heard nothing back.

Mods, what is going on? I'm sure anything I write is better than much of the drivel that's been posted there for the last few years.

Crazy stuff. Crazy reactions to it all too. All the politicization and finger pointing and what not. It just one of those natural disaster things as far as I can see. There are fires all the time, there just never used to be so many homes in the fire zones. Mostly millionaires being affected I suspect.

If home prices were crazy in California to begin with, rapidly escalating insurance premiums are going to make them even worse. Assuming fire insurance can even be had after this.

Not only are the Russians and their proxies setting fires or engaging in any sort of violence they can, they're making it pretty clear that you cant be neutral, its not that you cant afford to be neutral, its that you could be doing your best not to be bothered with their crazy agendas and ideologies, they'll still torch your home in the process.
